Ok i have a 1995 gs few months ago a bolt came loose on my oil pan and most of the oil leaked out in 1-2 days didn't notice. got it fixed when i got it back from the mechanics it had a knocking noise from about 3k -5 k rpms. then i threw a rod or something shortly after all the oil leaked out still ran (on three cylinders). it starts up and runs still but only on three cylinders. is there any way i can fix this problem? or is it time for a new motor?

It's possible to just replace what's broken, if the cylinder walls aren't scored. You will have to check all the rods and bearings for wear though. All depends on how much $ you want to spend.

just buy a new motor.. it'll be cheaper and its less time..
I disagree, depending on the damage, you *could* be looking at only a couple hundred bucks. I wouldn't have faith that is the case, but if the OP is trying to pinch pennies, it might be a solution for him. Finding out what's messed up is step one, do that and post back.
