Medicine Hat,
Okay well my baby took a dump on me yet again. only this time it was not just the head it was the entire engine so now im looking at getting a new engine. Now i have looked at a few shops such as slowboy, bushur, and ams they are the only ones i could think of but im sure their is more.

OKay so it looks like im probably going to go with the bushur racing stage 1 block and head but now im reconsidering it for the slowboy stage 1 engine. but a few questions i have that they dont answer on their website that i would like to know is. it doesnt say nothing about the balance shafts being removed where as the bushur does. Does any1 know if the SBR engine comes witht hem removed. also it does not say if the engine is a 6 or 7bolt i would like to stick with a 7bolt to make the instalation easy. Also the SBR website does not say what the head comes with so if anyone knows please let me know.

Also if anyone knows of any other good shops that offer full engines please let me know and also your opinion on SBR VS BUSHUR

So far my list looks like this for the engine swap
Bushur stage 1 block+head 2600
Mitsi revised lifter hks 264 cams 500
mitsu stock retainers ???
comlpete gasket kit 300
evo 3 16g+install kit 899
650cc injectors (safc and fuel pump already done) 250

If their is anything you suggest or that i require that i may of forgot in my list please let me know and add to it.

If the block itself isn't destroyed I wouldn't get another one. If it were me I would save the $2600 for the Busher block and just build a fully forged one yourself. My buddy just got JE/Eagles for like $780 brand new and had it put together by out local shop. You could have a fully forged engine with brand new everything for less than $2600.

I think you should look into a Magnus Motorsports engine re-build, plus they are in Canada so you won't have to pay those pesky duty & brokerage fee's. Very reputable shop.

If your gonna go between Buschur and Slowboy, i'd definitly have to say Buschur.

To be honest goint 7 bolt now is a waste of money. 7bolts have a history of crankwalk and it will be a huge waste of money if your new 7bolt rebuild walked. I would go 6 bolt and the install isn't that much harder, I've done them in my garage with home tools and an engine hoist.

okay iv looked through all the prices and magnus motorsports seems to be really expensive at 3500 for a block i believe or like 8k for a crate engine im sure the bushur engine is far cheaper than that as it is only 2650+shipping+taxes and rebuilding my old engine is not really a option its completly destroyed. Also if i do swap to a 6bolt engine can i still use my existing transmision and flywheel as i have aftermarket ones and dont want to replace them again.

SBR Stage I

Balance Shafts Removed

If you buy an oil pump, we will also put that on as well.

Stage I's can only be 6 bolts because the 7 bolt rods are not something we like to spin up to fast.

If it's a short block, the head is not included. If it's a long block, the description will have what type of head is matched to that block.

I'm not a big fan of building 7 bolts and not because i'm scared of crank walk, i've just watched 6 bolts get run way harder than most any other and live to run another day.

If i missed anything, you let me know!

I would not purchase a Magnus shortblock, longblock, or head even if they were cheaper than any other truly reputable vendor for reasons which I will be happy to discuss more about offline. I would personally stick with Buschur or EnginTecs, but that's just my $0.02. :dsm:
