just wanting some thoughts on this situation. I have a 99 eclipse for my project car but the motor is blown (420a). should I rebuild the motor (i've found a kit for 411 dollars) or swap the motor for a 4G63?

you cant just swap in a 4g63 in a N/T. you have to do some fabricating and change the harness. but we got my 6 bolt long block from the junk yard.

well how much would be lookin at to fabricate and change the harness and buy the motor and tranny?

not sure how much it cost to fab. motor mounts and other stuff and changing the harness. but its going to ALOT of work if your going for it. the motor, say about $300 to $400+ for a good one.

Its better off rebuilding your motor or get a new used motor. Then build your old one.

From all the reading I've done on the site, and in my personal opinion, you would be better off just selling the thing and buy a GSX. FWD = Not so fast.

well if I rebuild the 420a how much do you think I could sell it for? everything else is in good condition. paint is fresh, and the interior is in great condition and theres no body damage
