my car is blowing smoke really bad. i bought the car blown up and completly rebuilt it from the oil pan to the head.the stock turbo(tdo4) was bad so i got a donor(tdo5) off of another car.whenever i step on the gas it leaves a smoke screen behind me. it looks to be white and blue smoke. it blew smoke with the bad tdo4 and still is doing the same.the turbo appears to be in good shape.compressor looks good and spins good.it has an oil leak coming from the bottom side of the turbo so i replaced the drain line gasket and still the same thing.could some one please help me ??? give me some steps as to pinpoint the problem.

also real quick, this smoke is coming out of the muffler correct? If you have a leaky turbo oil return line, it can drip onto the downpipe and burn off, and you will get smoke coming out from under the hood, but not outta the muffler. If it's coming out of the muffler, then it's not going to be some external leak from a line causing it.

well i put a clean intercooler on and cleaned out all my lines real good.i fired it up and at first it smoked like crazy. after a few minutes of driving the smoke faded some. then i noticed smoke coming out from under my hood. lifted the hood and looked and there was oil coming out of the front of my head from around my exhaust ports. so it looks like it's time to take my head off, again, take it back to the machine shop and stick it straight up that m!!!erf!!!!Rs a!$. i keep you up to date if i'm not in prison. LOL.

i was just thinking that it might be where i haven't totally broken in the motor but the oil was starting to pool on my exhaust manifold. that's a lot of oil seeing it was hot. any suggestions.

If its puddling on top of the manifold, I would double check the valve cove gasket for a good seal and inspect the valve cover closely for any cracks. It could also be caused from a leaking oil fill cap or blowing it out of the dipstick tube. Good luck.

naw you can see it coming through the exhaust ports. i wish it was gonna be that simple.it looks as like i have to pull my head as much as i hate to. i'm gonna run it a little more and see if the valve seals might decide to start working but the way my luck is. ha ha

well i took my car out on the road for the first time today since i bought it. the smoke is fading away(guess it's just where the motor wasn't broke in yet) i still have a oil leak out of my drain back tube but until i get a gasket i guess i'll just keep feeding her oil. #itch has gotta eat to. i live in the hills of tennessee and i took her back in the "holler" for a drive. i'm in love all over again. i had my wife with me and all she could say was slow down your gonna make me puke. :barf: LOL. i just had to tell her to shut up i wasn't going thaaaat fast. nothing like a awd turbo. i pretty much just kept it in 2nd gear so i could hear the turbo whine out it's song.what a pretty song she sings. i'm going to run her somemore and see how she does. hopefully i won't run into to many more problems. i can handle minor ones they help to pass the time. ain't it great to own a dsm. ha ha i meant two dsm's. thanks to all those that have helped me with the smoke problem. :thumb:

If you got some RTV Silicon you could just throw that on that return pipe if you don't gotta gasket. I usually just use that crap all the time cuz I'm always taking sh!t apart. And instead of rebuying gaskets over and over, I usually just slap one RTV on there!

Did you ever clean the ic? If the old turbo was blown and the engine was too, there could be a few qts of oil still sitting in the ic and exhaust.

92awddsm made a comment and I didnt noticed if you tried what he mentioned. I too found about 1/2 a quart of oil in my GSX when I got it 5 weeks ago but now have another problem though. Check your Intercooler if not already done. :dsm:
