blow by from breather hose

The oil is normal, unless its a ungodly amount but the smoke dont sound right and i dont really know what would cause that.

I heard it could be bad piston rings in which gases is getting pass the rings and into the oil which leads to oily/smokey breather.

Is this warmed up or cold? Do you get any smoke from the tailpipe? Blowby is much worse on a cold motor.

The oil is normal. The baffles in the "roof" of the valve cover keep most of it out, but some makes it through. It gets worse if blowby gets worse.

You can use an in-line catch can on the breather line to keep the oil out of the intake. But the can has to be sealed...one inlet, one outlet, nothing else. Some use a fuel filter, some make their own, some buy one. Just remember it has to be sealed or you'll draw unmetered air in through the extra hole in the catch can during idle.

im getting alot of smoke out of the breather hose. could that be caused by valve seals?it also seems to be blowing oil into my intake. anything i can do to fix this w/o spending alot of $$$

When you first crank your car does a small puff of white smoke come out of the tail pipe??Only after the car has been sitting for a while and the engine has gotten completely cold. If so, then you do have some valve stem seals leaking a little blow-by. The smoke out of the breather on the valve cover is more than likely caused by leaky valve seats, and possibly worn piston rings as well.

Is it normal to have some pressure commig from that breather tube? (the one that connects to the intake)
