So I accidentally broke this sensor of some sort. I tried looking for it in my car book...however all I got is that its connected to the breather hose.

Its the hose that comes off the valve cover and goes through the air intake pipe. Now this part has 2 hoses that are attached to it. I broke off the plastic peices the hoses connect to...yea plastic :/.

If anybody can tell me what this thing is...or have any idea please let me know...so I can replace it. Ill try to get a pic of it tomorrow.

Thanks!

What trim car you got? Id say just get a filter for it or an oil catch can. If what your talking about it the oil breather.

Its a 97 eclipse gst. The hose is comin off the left portion of the valve cover. This hose goes through the air intake pipe and connects to this sensor of some sort bolted under the air intake pipe section.

My question is what exactly is this thing? Its connected to two hoses...and also has an electrical connector...so im guessing its some sort of sensor. My car has been running a little fishy...and I contribute this to boost leak/this peice.

Thanks!

It is the BCS solenoid I beleive your referring to, and if its hooked up that way its wrong.

Breather should be connected to the intake port. however, there are two intake ports, one of em connects also to the BCS (boost control solenoid). If you have a boost controller, you can not use this solenoid or you cannot use it anyway and just go off the wastegate, but you wont have as much boost.

Thanks! Yea thats the part. I just assumed that since I saw it going into the intake pipe that it was the same hose that came out the other side.

This is probably the cause of my boost leak yes? Ill probably try to get the peices off the hoses and try to repair the plastic peices.

Anybody here wanna sell me one? LOL.
