black smoke coming from pipe

hi, i just bought a 95 gst. it is completely stock and on the way home when the boost would kick in there was some black smoke coming from the pipe. it only happened once. it doesnt do it anymore. does anyone know why this would happen? the car has only 137000 on it. any help is much appreciated. thank you

Are you sure it was black and not blue? Black smoke usually means running rich or unburned fuel. Blue smoke is almost always oil, and white- coolent/water.

you could have put this into one of the many "my car is smoking this color" threads
