Big28 Turbo with big intercooler?

A big intercooler will always provide more cooling ability. Didn't you just ask this question before? It will help it out. There is nothing harmful in any way of running a big intercooler. Might get a little bit more lag at low boost but the air will be cooler which is a good thing.

Are you saying that you have a stock setup, or a t-28? The stock turbo is a t-25. I'll just assume that you mean you have a t-28 and everything else stock. No, a fmic won't hurt the performance of the t-28. Some people will claim that really big intercooler piping will hurt spool, but when you do the math between 2.5 and 3, there really isn't any difference in lag.

A really good setup for that turbo would be a Supra SMIC though. It will support up to 400 hp, which is a decent bit above what that t-28 will flow. If you want to be super trick, you could run water/alky injection too. Or you run a smaller FMIC, like one of the ebay ICs, starion, evo, anything like that.

thanks, I only ask because I have already bought a Big intercooler and BOv with the piping... I have a 50trim PTE right now, but no supporting mods and I dont want to invest in the injecters and ECU on my daily driver, so im downgrading to A: EvoIII turbo or B:BigT-28.....

You're gonna need new injectors no matter what. I think the t25 might be capable of pushing the limits of the stock injectors. I can't remember though, I don't have one.

You are kinda going bass ackwards on these mods though. You didn't necessarily need a fmic. It is important, and you will get heatsoak on the stock sidemount if you start to push it, but that's money that you could (and should) have put into a logger, safc, injectors. And a boost gauge.

Yur gonna want, at least, a fuel pump, if not injectors too. The highest boost you'll be able to run efficiently with just an upgraded fuel pump is 14 psi...15 psi maybe. If thats fine with you, then just get a pump and do the rewire as well. As far as your turbo goes...Between the 16g and the big28, I'd suggest the big28. 16g guys can flame me, but in our great state o' California, it's wise to be as stealthy as possible. Just my two cents.

So at minimum, you'll need...

Your Turbo
190 lph Fuel Pump
Boost Gauge
Manual Boost Controller
Supporting Mods (Don't know exactly what you have)
