Big16g 34mm flapper o2dump and there is CREEP??

An EBC would be alot better for a boost controller, but if your wg flapper still cant get rid off the boost being built-up, its not really gonna help.

damn Kris!! when did you get the new turbo"?!??!??!
i see your point though....im going to "try" and massage the WG hole a bit and see if i can keep it under 20psi

if not maybe a 20g and external arent a bad idea :D

I just installed it and...WOW what a difference. There is absolutely NO boost creep what so ever. I ported out the o2 housing divider a little, but this is by far the best way to COMPLETELY get rid of boost creep.

what is it? An external or an EBC?

well when you hook up to the WG actuator directly and STILL creep all the way to 20+ psi (you can hear the o2 dump after 9psi)
then i dont think any kind of boost controller is going to do much good.....(unless they make one that compresses exhaust gas to fit through a too small WG hole??!?!) :p

Maybe your wastegat is set for 16psi? no matter what you boost controller is set at, it won't go below 16PSI, turn it down manually.

I guess get a fuel pump, so im a little safer. Ill take you for a ride Sherman.

You put on a 16G without a fuel pump?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!??!?!?!!

i can "hear" mine open at around 9psi....which is around the average for most internals from what i have seen (t25, 14b, 16g, B16g)
that and if im not at WOT then it will stay at 9-10psi on the gauge...

these last few months have taught me how to drive at variable throttle positions to keep my psi around 16...god its annoying

guys wit hthe boost creep, humor me and unhook your WG actuator arm and hold the flapper open with some wire or something. if it still creeps you know that its not your wastegate actuator and that it is in fact your wastegate hole or 02 housing.

mitsugsx95, is that your turbo or did you just find the site? did that successfully stop the creep?

that seems like a good idea if you have your WG exhaust routed back into your system...but if you have a dump i dont see the benefit?
is that much exhaust slamming into the side wall of the housing?
do you have any more info besides the pic?
(before i go cutting up my housing i want to know its worth it ;) )

Yes, it is my turbo and yes it did completely get rid of boost creep. I put the stock o2 housing back on and there is no creep at all. With this done there is no need for a dump. It works great and i would recommend it to anyone with boost creep problems.

where the hell were you 3 months ago!? ;)

Yeah, tell me about it. It took me about 5 times with taking off the turbo to figure out how to fix it. If you have any local dsm shop or a place that works on turbos, just take it in there and they could prolly do it in about a couple hrs. Its great. There is no boost creep at all. Its rock solid! Now I just have to tune it a little and hopefully try and run a 12.9 or low 13's at the track.

yep. thats the problem with the cut wastegate channel mod. you need to go back to a regular O2 housing. And if it doesnt help or makes it worse, you're SOL because you already hacked up your turbo.

That is true, but 9 out-a 10 times it will cure the problem. Unless your running a HUGE turbo and still have an internal wg (not sure why you would want one) this would cure it. I dont have the dump dube on, and yes it would be open all the time. Thats why i put the stock back on, plus it was loud as hell.

Ryan95tsiAWD:
yeah, I tried porting out the o2 housing. Even when I had the o2 dump on there, it was still creeping up to 20psi. I also ported out the wg hole, but the flow was still hitting the bottom and not getting out.

did you think of trying to weld a "cup" or shield of some sort to help the WG exhaust flow better into the 02 dump? (basically extended the dump tube on one side all the way to the edge of the flapper...without blocking the flapper movement obviously.)
my dump hole is the exact same size as the WG outer hole (not where the flapper is..duh)
when ever i get around to it (hopefully this week) i will port the WG hole and throw on a 34mm and see how mine works out. if THAT doesnt work...and you guys arent making me feel any better...then im just going to throw a high-flow cat on until i can afford to upgrade...like Kris said...if im going external WG i might as well put a bigger turbo on it too :D

Thats the thing. AMS sells a T3 turbo with the same thing done to it ( the divider removed). I were going to be getting a bigger turbo, I would still get a external wg, its just better boost control, but with a correctly ported exhuast housing, there will be no boost creep. And I have a full 3" exhaust w/out a cat.
