Ok I recently acquired a 97 2g fwd tsi with a decent amount of mods it originally had a big 16g and ported head hks 264/264s aem a/f guage boost gauges evo manifold full 3' exhaust stage 2 clutch etc. I got it pretty cheap but the catch was that it had been broken down to just the crank in the car and needed new pistons because of a busted timing belt. I added link and a fpr an fuel lines from tank to rail had alot of powder coating done wally fuel pump hks tt and a 20g turbo with tila 40mm wastegate. I put it all together and got it tuned and running right and after about 700 miles it spun a bearing. Now Im stuck on what to do. I have 96 tsi awd auto also its pretty much stock other than a few free mods with a new head and 124,000 miles and a few leaks here and there. Should I swap parts to my awd and see what she'll do and rebuild the fwd into a stroker. Or just rebuild the motor in the fwd and swap it with the awd because I would love the awd to be built. Will the stock tranny hold up to a 20g. Sorry for the wild questions but in stumped.

Thanks

Rodney

Did the guys that tuned your car change the oil in it when they where done......If they didnt that was probably the leading reason why you spun a bearing because of all the fuel that gets dumped in the cylinders and seeps past the rings into the oil while they are getting the fuel maps right.

Bam. I hope the tuners did this. If not I wonder if you could go back and tell them what they didnt do. Also I would take the motor and put it in the awd and sell the fwd for parts/money to build the motor.

I would put the built motor and all the mods in the awd and get a 5 speed for it. Then you could just drive the gst as your daily driver. If you have a lot of power i would prefer an awd car over a fwd car. Thats just me.
