Okay i just bought a 95' eclipse GSX. I bought it yesterday. Has been running completely fine with no problems. Well today i did a donut in a parking lot and it stalled out on me. I was low on gas so I figured i ran out of gas. I tried to start it again. Started and stalled instantly. Did that one more time. After that nothing. Pushed it to a gas pump and put gas in it. Still nothing. Any ideas on what could of happened? My roommate thinks its the fuel pump. After trying to start is several more times the starter stopped working. It went from turning over to not turning over now. Im lost as ive never had a GSX. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

anyone?

Got the car back. turned out to be the igniter wire or something like that came loose.

Two things. OUCH. And you could have checked all the wires your self. Whem my car didn't start I started by tugging on the wires. You pull a plug free, you are not connected some where.

It's a big golden box behind the radio just in front of the ECU (this is the location for a 1g, pretty sure the 2g is the same or very similar).

When you turn the key on and then back off, about 10 seconds later you should hear a relay "click" behind the radio. This is the MPI (ignition) relay clicking off. If you dont hear the click, you probably have an ECU issue, as the ECU controls that relay.

My car is giving me a similar problem, behind the radio it clicks and lights up but my car wont start up. when i jump the car it starts up but when i try to push it up the block it stalls like a connection is loose and then the car dies. the alternator is brand new i just swapped it and the battery was tested at autozone and has no problems. could it be something grounded? could it be a loose connection? could it be the ecu? i have read somethings about the clicking behind the radio but dont know exactly what the cause is for that. can someone help me thanks also my safc2 tells me my battery is at 14volts when running but when i try to drive it the car shuts off and the battery drops to 9volts when i try to start it back up and it wont turn over this shit is crazy!!

hey, you remember when i told you that these cars' are like having another woman? well, it is the truth. they are fun when you get to take them for a ride, and they can take a toll on your wallet.
since the day you picked the car up, and while i had it, i never had a problem with the starter, and i am sure you didn't either. hit me up, i can get you one cheap
it was probably from you sitting there spinning it over when you couldn't get it to run. that fries these starters quick

well, if you do not get the same brand downpipe as the cat-back, then you may have to put an adapter in to lenghten it, or shorten the d.p. cause i have seen that all the d.p out there are different lengths. good luck. how is the car running? great, right?
you had told me when you picked the car up that your dad was saying something about how un-reliable they are, and right after you got home, that wire came un-plugged, but you couldn't figure it out,. so what did he say when that happen? LOL

yea joe the car is running good. when that happen he just laughed at me and said i told ya so.

hey its a DSM it has every problem you can think of.

Just wanted to point something out because alot of people say stuff like this. DSM's do not inherently have problems, they are usually caused by the owner. Whether it be from beating the shit out of them or "forgetting" to do the required maintenance before modding them its usually the owners fault when something goes bad except in the case of crankwalk. Thumbs up to Mitsu on that one...:thumb: But seriously these cars can be just as reliable as anything else if they are taken care of. Mine has always treated me well. Remember your car is Karma incarnate, the shit always comes back around.

also the downpipe you gave me the link for. does it replace the cat too? or do i still need a testpipe?

i had a similar problem when i had my 90 300zx, i did a bunch of donuts and shit in a parking lot and two things happened, my battery cable snapped from age(and a lot of whipping around) and i found vacuum hoses disconnected from the intake causing a huge vacuum leak. i immediately noticed the hoses but didnt even think to check the terminals

Will an EPROM ECU out of a 95 eagle talon tsi AWD work on a 95' eclipse gsx? and is 250$ a good price for one?
