My Talon has the 2.0L 4g63, and I was looking for some info on how to give my car some extra grunt without using a turbo or super charger, and without swapping the engine. I would like to keep the car N/A, so any tips, suggestions, or opinions on useful mods or techniques would be helpful.

Most N.A. sport compacts follow a similar formula: I/H/E

Intake, header, and exhaust. You'll likely notice better sound, power, and gas mileage depending on how you drive.

After that, there might be aftermarket NT cams to wring out some extra mid and high rpm horsepower. Your head and throttle body should be plenty big, but im not sure about the stock injectors. They should probably be fine as well. A high flow cat would help open things up as well.

I previously had a 2.0L neon and i took a full second off my 1/4 mile time by doing I/H/E and cam. Good luck with your build. More advice can be found under Tech/DIY at the top of this web page. Look at 1g non turbo tuning guide. Also search around the forums for fast 1g NT's.

Before I put the turbo on my car I had....Injen Intake, headers, test pipe (and a magnaflow cat for emissions :) , pacesetter catback, accel wires, fidanza flywheel, Centerforce DF clutch...all on a jdm 6 bolt n/t motor and still was dissapointed:( ...so i took the plunge and spent $750 on a budget turbo build...best $750 i ever spent...just my .02 ... ohhh if you are interested in a set of obx headers and an injen intake...pm me.... big_d:talon: :laser: :dsm:

aftermarket ecu's are also a good way to get some more power. mostly just moving the rev limiter and removing the speed limiter. also underdrive pulleys.
