best way to take off intake manifold on 2g??

take off the battery and intercooler piping and you can reach down and grab all the bolts. You can do it all from the top .. although the first time I had the car on stands and did it from top and bottom.

*edit ... I used an open end wrench because I didn't have any small swivel sockets laying around ... took about 1 - 1.5 hours.

hahahh. Oh well, if he can't get his old manifold off the he shouldn't be playing around with cars anyways. My first time ever taking one off a few years ago took me 1.5 hours with basic and limited hand tools. I could almost do one in my sleep now, hell I think I did one last night, let me check under my pillow for a 10mm...

It will take about twice as long, but you may as well remove the head and slap in some ARP head studs if you're removing the IM anyway. Also a 1G throttle body would be a great upgrade while you have the head off 'cause it will be really easy to port match the intake manifold while it's off. Those are things you're probably going to do anyway, so may as well do 'em at the easiest time.

eh i havent tried since i got your guys advice, im sure i could do it if i came in from the left and took off the pipes and battery, didnt do that last time. but i havent gotten around to it yet, also im not even sure the intake manny is the problem anymore
