Albuquerque,
Need advice from nitrous users.

My setup is with pte-50 trim turbo, and all supporting mods (logger and s-afc included) except clutch. My elevation is 5200 ft therefore it's more laggy here. I have hooked up the NX 50shot to help spool up the turbo but shut off at 15PSI. Nitrous setup is activated if the switch is ON and WOT. I will be heading to the track this weekend and was wondering what is the best way to run this.
My thoughts: 1) turn system on once in 2nd gear and leave on until done
2) turn on before the launch
3) any more inputs would be appreciated

Thanks!

I would turn the switch on right after you shift in second.

Try and put it somewhere easy to mess with so you dont miss a gear.

I wouldn't run it in first, but I'd imagion it would be hard to switch it when shifting into 2nd

I'd probably be more worried about blowing your stock clutch.

The nitrous switch was the wrong one therefore I did not use it. I had it tune for pump gas but then stupid me put in 5gals of 101 and the thing ran pig rich. Then tried to play with the MBC to dial in the boost but not successful until final run and got it at 24-25 lbs. All other runs were at 19-20 lbs and was only able to net a best ET of 14 and 102MPH. I think the stock clutch can't take anymore abuse so I called it quits after the 6th run. Need to work on my 60ft :thumbdown, best of 2.0. Weather was nasty with winds in the 30-40 MPH and sand blowing across the track.

I'm the same person as wingz. Just got a new account.
I did make it to the track last weekend. Here's the outcome
My setup: PTE-50trim boosting @19-20 PSI, 91octane, stock clutch, 2.5in turbo back exhaust, 50shot of NOS, 5200 ft elevation, no cams, all 4 tires pressure ~22PSI (that's why the low MPH).
1st run 14.6 @~99MPH 2.2 60ft no nitrous
2nd run 13.8 @~99MPH 2.0 60ft no nitrous
3rd run 13.3 @~99MPH 1.8 60ft nitrous stayed on from 0 to 10 PSI
4th run 13.4 @~99MPH 1.7 60ft nitrous stayed on from 0 to 10 PSI (could not get into 3rd gear but finally did)
5th run 13.6 @~99MPH 1.8 60ft nitrous stayed on from 0 to 10 PSI (coasted in after 3rd since couldn't shift into 4th)
6th run 12.9 @103MPH 1.8 60ft nitrous stayed on throughout the run
Decided to call it quits after this run since it was getting late.

I figured out why I could not better a 2.0 60ft (it was pretty frustrating). The 50trim is a bit laggy for this altitude but once the nitrous was introduced, it was a beast. 60ft times are very consistent.

I will be out there again this weekend to see if I can back up that 12.9. I think with better tires and Z-rated ones and better 60ft, I don't see why 12.6 is not possible. Also, there's a Import bracket racing so it should be a blast.

I did log the 13.3 run and was getting timing 17-19*.

What nx kit do you have?

I just did 11.9at119 on 18"tires. 50trim turbo and 23psi. I can't imagine using 50 shot with that turbo, just make sure the car is tuned..

true that man ... with that turbo 12s should be an all day thing. 16Gs run faster than those times without nitrous. Do you have a fmic? It's all in the tuning. Oh .. and how does your car even start without any cams  :D

Don't rag on his tunning, unless you have a time slip at his track.

Without cams, and without a good intercooler 12's isn't going to be the easiest thing on a hot day 5000 feet up.
