I'm in the market for a new turbo manifold with the mitsu housing and I was wondering what would you all recommend and why? I am looking for a manifold with a 44mm wastegate mount also. The price doesn't matter. So far I am considering either a DNP or a Shearer Fab Manifold but I would still like to know what others recommend. :thumb:

If you are going tubular you might as well go with a t3 flange and do it right when you get a new turbo. If you want to stay with the mitsu flange I would go with a cast unit. They can make as much power as you need and last a long time. If this is a bling thing then DNP has some nice mani's. IMO money can be spent elsewhere for more potential.

Turbo is already purchased with a mitsu flange so t3 won't be happening. I wanna go with a tubular design to help out spoolup. As far as money being spent elsewhere for more potential goes, I have pretty much purchsed everything I want except a smim which will also be purchased soon...

Well, that is not entirely true. Cast iron manifolds retain heat a lot more, and don't flow as much as a lightweight tubular would. The runner design is the most critical part of a tubular manifold, and the fact that you would need it to be precision made, and yes they can still crack. Due to the heat and pressures, the weakest welds (if any) will be exposed for what they are, weak and brittle. I have a DNP with a mitsu flange, and I have no problems with mine at all, and I have had mine for 2 years. Its not just about the bling, its the performance. So why can't it look great as well as perform great?

They do perform great but IMO money can be spent elsewhere. You can make 600+whp on a stock 2g mani, stock head port and stock Intake manifold with no problem. Instead of spending money on a both intake manifolds you can buy other parts to go just as fast. Not saying they dont perform well.

If you already have the turbo, intercooler and all your fuel mods then why not go with one. Punishment racing makes some nice ones also.

I'd get a FP manifold and then just get an external dump after the turbo. The manifold is the nicest cast manifold I've seen and it'd not expensive. Just take a look and you'll see what I mean. :thumb:

I was looking at the fp race manifold earlier. It is starting to kinda grow on me LOL

Everything I get or have seen that has come out of FP is top notch. Manifold included. I want one myself as my current stock manifold has a nice crack on the bottom.

What exact parts are you talking about when you say money can be spent elsewhere? I probably already have whatever you are going to suggest...

What setup are you going to be running? Turbo, ems, fuel mods, intercooler setup?

Since you say you have everything then thats why I said go ahead and go with what ever you want, not trying to make up you mind just giving my opinion.

Turbo will be a precision 6152RSP, EMS: Dsm Link, Fuel: FIC 1000cc, aem fpr and rail, walbro 255, Fmic: SBR race.

My profile thing is semi updated if you want to see what other mods I have.

DNP manifolds have cracked in the past so I would just get that FP manifold. Like someone said above, the best cast mani I've seen period. JMFab also just made a really nice shiney heatshield for them too.

Shearer does not make a manifold with a mitsu. flange anymore. I don't think the came with a wastegate flange. They where made for the FP turbos. I had to track down a used one.
They are nice though.

I'm sure they can make one with a mitsu flange for me. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and get a price.

If you go with the tubular then you may also want to consider some sort of coating to combat the heat. I have a FP race mani and a SS heat sheild and that setup is really sweet. Peace

Yeah, well what about all the other ones out there too? Shearer Fab's? DNP? OBX? What about their stuff? You can't beat a tubular when it comes to heat disapation and the flow. Then why don't they make aftermarket manifolds/headers out of cast iron? Only lightweight tubular designs? Its been proven time and time again...

Get a new turbine housing with T3, get whatever manifold you want.

If your going to stay mitsu FP's housings are the only way to go with BEP in a distant second.

baiscally i have found out you get what you pay for! the ebay shit sucks, put one on my buddies evo crack it at just about every weld within half hour of driving. contacted them they said oh it was "misused" So there is 200 down the drain. Replaced with a dnp never looked back since! yeah you could get a shearer but look how much they cost dnp seems to be in the middle....I would def go with dnp
