I want to get a oil pressure gauge since I know my sensor is crazy sometimes and I want to know wheres the best place to mount for accuracy? Either off the block where the sensor is or from my oil sandwich adapter plate?

Also, I see turbo in my future....

I'd mount it on the back of the block, where the stock oil pressure sending unit is. Mounting it here will give you reasonably accurate measurements. When you get a turbo, it'll also let you monitor the oil pressure going through the turbo's feed line.

Given how the oil filter is mounted on a 420A, sandwich adapters aren't a good idea in general.

Is it that it’s too tight a fit for the plate plus sender setup, or that the readings for oil pressure won't be accurate for the oil pressure gauge?
:hmm:

It is not in a ideal location to read oil psi I have mine in a sandwhich I have it to make sure my oil is running LOL it used to be located on the back of the block and I could tell when my oil was even a little low because of that location and I know how much my turbo was getting to make sure it doesn't get starved of oil the only reason I moved is because of such an oil leak(the sandwhich leaks too >.>) I kept gettting if you still have the stock air box below the intake it will be quite a pain to get because a T is necessary and you have to connect the pieces one by one it is a rather tight fit if you have the time and resources id say pull the motor but I like to get things right the first time. Both spots work but one is more accurate and harder to get to and the other is less accurate but more simple all depends on what you are trying to achieve. I hope I was helpful

Yes you have been very helpful, but I have another question... Is it so inaccurate that it's not feasible to place it there? How much of a difference in readings are we talking ... approximately?

Does the sandwich leak because it twists loose over time or is it just made a little off? Oh and which plate do you have ... glowshift, or prosport?

i have a prosport but the stm one only is for 4g63 so you need the nut from a glowshift i hope thats clear, its not that much of a difference to notice but since its right off the filter unless your oil is fairly low it will always show pressure if this makes sense. The only reason that it leaks is because I did not put tape on the plug bolts before installing:ohdamn: but in my defense I was in a hurry

Thanks! I will keep that in mind when I get to installing mine.

cutting corners on a turbo install :nono: haha just kiddin man

I know you are kidding but i did not cut corners on necessary parts LOL i just figured they didnt need it since there were tapered they seemed that way it only seeps barely enough to form a drip within a week of dd i did have it mounted on the back but that is also where my turbo feed was so if you think about it. One port for the oil sending unit, one port for turbo inlet line, one port to connect to the block, and one more port for the stock sensor.. sadly that creates a situation where a T comes off a T and i have to say that there is slim room back there and it cant be assembled before going on the block. that was the most headache from such a simple task i ever acquired so i just got the sammich :D
