Guys,

i am going to turbo my 4g63NT eci multi really soon and i am looking for the best turbo to use,
in your opinion and experience, what is the best/feasible turbo for my engine, not too small, not too big....
many thanks.

With the n/t internals, specifically the pistons, you can't afford to run high boost. A cheap fast spooling turbo would be ideal. I say get your hands on a 13G and port out the turbine housing and match it with a 14B exhaust manifold.

would a tdo5h 16g/big16g be alittle bit exagerated????

OT:from what evo version did the big16g came from?

with the 14b turbo... spooling starts in what rpm??
what is the max boost dat u wer able to set on this set up....

many thankS!!!!

14b is a good turbo for a conversion. a 16g wouyld just be a wiast of money as you will never need that big of a turbo on a sotck motor because you can only run 10lbs of boost or it will break pistons. n/t pistons are really weak the crowns are realy thin and the ring lands are thin and weak as well. so get a 14b. it will be good. the first time you take it out and it runs well u will shit yourself. it should spool about 3000 rpm.

i say do the entire motor/tranny/ECU/harness swap, then put whatever turbo you want on there.

I did my swap last winter, turned out great!

good luck!

A 13g would be a waste of time. Go with the 14b turbo you will be happy with it. You can find them for cheap too.

if you're doing a full swap, use whatever you want to. but if you're only going to put a turbo onto your nt block then anything more than a 14b is just a waste of money considering the relative cheapness of the 14b and its obvious power potential.

so in your opinion, guys, a 16g would be just a waste of money?
even if you consider the potential of the 16g???

next week i should be able to have enogh money to start my project....
so seems like it would be 14b after all.

please post more infos....

the point is that you can't even maximize the potential of the 14b unless you do something about those nt pistons and fuel system. the 16g would just be a poorly spent $600. use that money to get a good suspension or a turboback.
