I would suggest, using dsmlink, not only is it more userfriendly meaning you can tune it yourself but its cheaper and can do almost anything aem can. furthermore i honestly would go with the biggest injector size which fits your needs you say 850's i would honestly go with 1000cc's if i were in the situation they are a hair more money but will prevent havning to buy them for future modifications, and with a gt30r that bad boy is going to provide PLENTY of air , and you want to make sure you have a sufficient fuel supply , i am nearly maxing out my 650's on my evo 3 16g. there is nothing wrong with having more injector then you need, you will run a nice low injector duty cycle with plenty of room to up the boost :sneaky: .

i dont know if you only wanted men to answer this thread because you said thank you "sirs" but i figured i could help .:thumb:

and if you feel the need for more fuel suppy without having to up the injector size you could fabricate some -an fuel lines, -6 will supply adaquate fuel for up to 1000cc's but you could use an -8 fuel line and have all the fuel you will need, here is a useful link on the subject www.vfaq.com

For a GT30 the 850's will be plenty enough injector even if you would want to upgrade later. On my friends car he's running 780 injectors on a FP 3052 and pushing around 28-30 psi with no problems. As far as the management you could do well weith dsmlink but aem will give you more to tinker with. You'll have to be really good with it too since you're going to have to start from nothing right off the bat. At least with the link you have the stock maps there already and you're going off of that so you know it's going to start right away. With aem you could spend a while just getting the thing to start and idle properly. Here's another thought. Have you considered Greddy E-manage ultimate? It's definately a nice system and it allows you to get rid of the MAF and switch to a MAP sensor setup. Personally I love it. I'm running it with the MAP sensor now and was finally able to get rid of that damn GM MAF-T tanslator. With the ultimate you can hook a wideband 02 sensor to it and it will help you tune for an A/F ratio that you want to run with it as well. You can store 2 tunes and with the flip of a switch go from a street tune with pump gas to a race gas tune, it's got individual cylinder tuning maps, and a whole bunch more. Here's a link and you can decide for yourself. I like it alot. http://www.greddy.com/products/display/?Category=electronics&SubCategory=47

Thank you Miss, i ment anyone could answer and I will keep this in mind for future posts.
Its just rare to find dsm ladies, especially on the forums. Your post was helpful and informative- thank you Lisa

Im gonna be turning the engine for the 1st time this spring or early summer ( still want that staged tranny and SMIM that will set me back a minute) so I need something simple and effective to be able to fire right up in my driveway without towing it to a tuning shop.

I have a 98 GST, I'll prob need an Eprom from a 95 huh>? or at least get the Top Speed Limiter removed, there was another thread floating around here about JSTER ECU i might look into that after I decide what im gonna run.

Good Info.

p.s. your pink text owns!!

Thank You Spike,

I need to look into it a little, kinda had my mind set up on the top 2. It seems everyone uses old and proven systems for tuning. Nobody uses Hydra, Ecu+ ( favored by the EVO 8+ guys) and megasquirt seems to be more of a muscle/domestic setup ftmp.

I just want something that can take all my new mods into consideration like cams ,SMIM etc... so thats why im leaning towords dsmlink-I can start the thing up on my driveway and start breaking in the new motor.

Not sure what injector to go with but I knew 650's would be a little small for my setup

thanks for the replies ladies and gentlemen.

I have dsmlink and i love it. I usually have my friend/mech do most the work on my car, but i actually pulled the ecu and put it in myself and its easy as hell to tune with. I started it up and went low boost and added fuel and i've still been turning boost up and adding fuel when i get a chance. I've got nothing bad to say about link

With out going full stand-alone like AEM EMS, Motec, etc. DSM Link would be the best option as far as tuneability and user options goes. Once you set DSM Link up for the size injector you have the car should fire right up and idle, as long as there is nothing mechanically wrong.

I'm not too familiar with ECU+ or Hydra so I can't really comment on those.

If you can get your hands on an eeprom ECU then you can get it burned for whatever size injector you want. Jeff from DSM Chips burns chips as does Jestrtuning. Jestrtuning actually offers a subscription service for custom chips. You just have to send them a data log sheet and they'll set up the timing and fuel accordingly.

As for what size injectors you should go with, I honestly don't know, the turbo you're looking at is pretty big. I would try to get as big as you can afford.

According to the DSM Tuning sheet v. 2.1:
Fuel pressure, injector cc and Max HP
43 650 415.24
43 750 479.13
43 850 543.01

If you plan on running the GT30 at high boost with cams and a built engine, get 850ccs. If you just plan to run it at 25psi with cams, get 750s. 850ccs will allow you to run low IDCs.

People think the 650ccs are not big injectors. CanadianTsi runs a 11.8 on his 50trim and has a 190 pump and 650ccs for fuel. I don't see how anyone could max out 650ccs on the EVO III turbo unless it is a tuning issue.
