I cant seem to find the info. I need to decide if this is the turbo for me. Is anyone running this turbo, or just know when it makes full boost, and how much whp it's capable of on a TSi AWD? I'm not looking for the ultimate turbo or anything, but I would like the turbo I choose to be a nice upgrade from stock, as I bought the car with no wastegate actuator on the turbo. I didn't care about the turbo even working because I had plans to upgrade the turbo anyways. I found this turbo at Turbo-Kits.com 90, 94, 95, 99, Eagle Talon TSi Turbo Upgrades, 4G63T :banghead:

It says 380-400hp! With the right mods it could be done.

I would be patient and look into other options. Do some research into the turbo decision. Although the turbo may flow enough air to make 400whp, you are most likely going to need a set of upgraded cams to get even close to this, along with a pretty good amount of boost to achieve this. Obviously the correct supporting components and a good tune as well.
There are so many options with turbos at the 400whp level.
In my personal opinion, I would definitely NOT get this turbo for the money. I would explore other options.

I'm just really loving the stainless! I've seen that alot of people love the HX35, and some of these people have been able to get it ready to install for just over $500. I can't find anywhere that sells the HX35 ready to install, and with a non-working turbo on the car I really don't want to get the HX35, then have to get the BEP housing just to get a good turbo thats a nice upgrade from stock on my car. And as far as 400WHP goes the car is not stock, as far as I can tell it has bigger injectors, a fuel pump, some Greddy IC piping, (I don't think the IC is Greddy, it's not very big), and Greddy BOV. Now I don't know exactly what these parts are, (I got the car yesterday) or if they are able to support 400WHP, but I don't need to make that kind of power "off the bat", I'm willing to upgrade parts one by one to get there. Besides too much power is never enough, so when I get to 400WHP and max this turbo out I'll prob. want to upgrade to another turbo that can make more power, or leave it there and keep it a "street car". Is there another turbo that would be better for my car for less money, I really don't want to spend ANY more than what this turbo costs?

An hx35 is "ready to install" if you buy one, then buy the housing and oil lines. No sure why you rule any turbo out that costs so little just because you have to get the housing from somewhere else. . . I mean you can buy a turbo and the bolton housing from different places at the same time.

The FP 18g comes to mind for a turbo that costs no more than this BEP 46-trim. I'm not sure but you may still get a PTE scm5031 in this price range. Both do not have as much potential than an hx35.

Personally, I think it's a waste to buy a turbo jus to upgrade it down the road. If you're sure you'll want more than 400whp, the get a bigger turbo. The 18g is a good 400whp turbo, but you'll probably need a bit more boost than the other turbos I mentioned and perhaps even a decent intake manifold upgrade ($$$$). The scm 5031 could net you more down the road with a turbine housing and exhaust manifold upgrade. And an hx35 can net much more with just a better tune and more boost.

HX35 is a great budget turbo imo...3500rpm spool with a .55ar housing and the ability to hit a little over 500 as well. A very versitile and budget friendly turbo.

Now I don't know exactly what these parts are, (I got the car yesterday)

You need to focus on the maintenance(timing belts, fluids, filters, etc) being done before you start modding. Be patient. If you are looking for a nice upgrade in the near future, shop around for a nice used 16g,18g, or 20g even for cheap. Like I said do the research first, there's so many options

Thank you all soo much for the great info, I'm learning so much so fast here! Looks like there is no beating the HX35! I'm beting this thread will really help someone else out in the future, as it is very straight to the point, with alot of great info in a short amount of space. This is also one of the few threads that I've found about turbos where someone mentions an actual RPM the turbo spools at. I did alot of maintenance the day I got it, I changed out ALL the fluids, hoses, some vac lines, air filter, and spark plugs. It has Tatlor 10.4 spark plug wires on it, and the belts look fine. Funny thing is I had no idea (until I researched on here, before buying the car) about the Hyundai valve cover swap, and someone put a Hyundai valve cover in it that says Hyundai. So when I went to check out the car to see if it was worth buying I poped the hood and the first thing I saw was that valve cover, and I was like "no way did somebody swap a Hyundai engine into a TSi"! So I didn't buy it the first day, I came home and looked into why there would be a Hyundai valve cover on a TSi. I'm soo happy to have this car, I've been looking for one sence I was a kid!
