alright im planning on getting a chip from dsmchips.com...... where is there a good place in the bay area to get my ecu socketed....? i think i might as well get the caps replaced at the same time....
can anyone recomend a spot from experience?
also whats the deal with socketing... im not sure what goes down when they do it...
when i get it socketed will it still have my eprom chip until i put the chip in or do i have to bring it in with the chip and they put it in?

any help or explainations of socketing is appreciated

alright i finally got a search to stick and i read what people had to say about socketing and i understand it now.....

however i still have one question..... where is there a good shop to get my ecu socketed in the bay area? from experience please....

yeah im pretty sure pole can do it... haah pole.... man that just cracks me up every time.... just you and me tho mahesh... always laughin a paul... paul is the dsm magician tho

my buddy did his own chip and socketing so i think ill be able to find someone to do it for me.... probably wont be getting it for a month or two though now as things are looking.....
 
it's all good, pole's the dsm man, LOL. honestly though if you're good with a soldering iron, etc. you could probably do it all yourself with some supplies from radio shack.
