I have no idea what charging voltage should be, but I was under the impression that it was over 14v. I'm getting around 13.5v while cruising, 13.3-13.5v at idle. That seems kind of low to me. My battery never drains or anything like that and the charging system seems to able to keep up with load, because no matter what I turn on it quickly returns to 13.5v.

The alternator was replaced about 3 years ago by the previous owner (it definately was because he gave me the original). The ground connections are clean and I've made 4 new ones out of 4g amp wire (valve cover, IM, and 2 firewalls), so there's definately not a ground problem. The battery is about a year old 660cca Duralast Gold (autozone crap). Could it be the positive connection maybe? Or maybe this alternator is going too only 30k later?? Maybe 13.5v is fine, but I swear when I first put the SAFC in it was reading like 14.2v.

FYI, there were no symptoms to make me suspect anything. I thought was lights were way way too dim so I checked the voltage on the SAFC. Turns out I had just turned my dimmer switch all the way down when I was playing with it the other day.:coy:

Oh well that's good. I need to be less paranoid about this car.

And I think you've posted in every one one of my threads about this thing, you must think I have the most unreliable car on the board.ROFL

I agree, you're running fine. I run the same numbers on the inside of the cabin AFTER replacing my alternator. I get 14-ish volts at the battery.
