my car will run and drive perfect and ill be driving the car and once it warms up and I shut it off it wont start it makes a clicking noise when trying to start it but yet the battery is working fine and the lights, music, windows, etc; works?

Could still be your battery. The clicking sound normally comes from the battery being to weak to hold the starter solenoid shut.

Clean your connections and try again. If it still won't turn over without a boost, it's the battery.

Make sure all of your battery cables are tight . your grounds need to be tight and have metal to metal contact. a bad ground a lot of the time will still give you power but the resistance will be to high to give you enough current to start the engine. just a thought.

i know, i meant where the whole starter was located

under the intake manifold bolted to the transmission. it'll will be easier to get at if you remove the battery and battery tray.

so could i just see it from the top of the engine bay or would i half to get the car jacked up and go underneath?

I just removed the starter and installed a new one today. I didn't remove a thing except for the positive terminal wires. I know it possible but the easiest way to remove it without removing the engine would be from underneath the car. You can see the starter from the top but only if you know what you're looking for. Its held on by two bolts that go through the tranny bell housing. One bolt will have a ground strap (ground for the started).

Before you go pulling things off to get to the starter an easier simpler thing to do is make sure the connections at the battery are good first.. Clean any corrosion off, if you still have the problem then dig deeper.

Good advice^^ Also, once you figure out where the starter is reach way back to the back end of it and make sure the nut that secures the positive cable to it is still there. The nut backed out on me once so my car wouldn't start, easy fix there.

I had a no start problem today that took me 3 hrs to figure out. I can bet no one will ever find out what the problem was. Hits, the alternator is god, starter was good (even though I replaced it just incase), battery is good (triple checked) all fuses and relays were good and still had no start... I'll let yall know once I get a few good guesses up here:D

Always disconnect battery negative first. You can get it out the top if you remove battery and tray but it's a very tight fit with the hoses, engine mounting bracket, and all (and you must position it just right) so many opt to take it out the bottom instead. Either way it's easier to disconnect the solenoid cables from the bottom. Here's a couple pics that may help:

thanks for the pics that helped a lot, im gonna check the wires and connection on the starter and check how much life is left in my battery cause it could be a sign my battery is getting weaker, hopefully its something simple like that.

thanks im going to check all of the connections and get my battery tested

I had a bad battery and my lights music everything worked fine but same symptoms like you, i switched the battery and it was working fine for me. I had the battery tested at auto zone and they said its fine so i switched the starter that wasn't the problem switched the battery and issue solved.

I noticed that you said that it run good until it warms up, how good does it start when the engine is cold? I've seen starters go bad and still crank the engine over when in a cold start situation.

All good tips if you feel the need for a voltmeter you can actual program the stock boost gauge on your dash to read your voltage. Path for ECM Link v2 (ECU Configuration(LOG)>Dash>Boost gauge then select battery. Good luck.

I am willing to bet the battery truly wasn't the problem but instead it was your terminals. The cables when mated to a new battery had a great metal to metal connection.

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN your battery terminals. I can't say it enough times to anyone. Corroded terminals will mimic a bad battery and a bad starter.

1st thing to check: clean connections.

2nd thing: check your grounds. Remove, clean and reconnect if a bad ground is suspected.

3rd: check your battery with a volt meter with it off and started of possible.

That should make it easy.

Okay so this is why my car would not start..

This little thing broke somehow so there was nothing pushing down the switch that it's supposed to. That switch is just to the left of the clutch pedal. It took me 3 hrs of doing and testing other things when all it was was this little grommet stopper thing.

This is just one more thing to look out for when you have a "no start" issue on our cars. Hope it helps somebody out.

the car starts great when cold. It seems when the car is warmed up it does it only maybe cause the battery is a little weaker? im going to take it down to auto zone and see how much is left in the battery if its getting weaker ill replace it.

so far I have cleaned all corrosion off wires on the battery, do you think i should clean the starters?
