On initial start up of getting my new motor in my battery light is on. So i thought it was my alt because it was quite old and covered in about an 1/8 to 3/16 of dirt & grime (literally couldn't see in it - bought it that way) anyway got the new alt on and new battery and still the light is on. the fuse is not broken either. This lead me to check the alt relay I supplied power and ground to the relay and got no clicking so i went to the junk yard and snatched 3 of them from other dsm's there. I tried swapping those in and none of those worked either.

Tomorrow I'm going to check to see if there is power going into the relay (from the car) and check voltage at the battery with the car running. Other than this any suggestions on what I can check while under the hood?

ok battery light, Coolant light and brake light are all on. While car is running battery voltage is 12.33 (same with the car off). I grounded my multimeter lead and put the power lead on the alternator (10mm nut) and only 12 volts right there while car is running. I had the alternator checked and it checked good twice (battery also). So right now I'm out of ideas. on the relay i have 12.33 volts coming into the relay and basically nothing on the other side. the relay it self is reading 1.2 milli ohms (hopefully i'm saying that right). So any suggestions?

Make sure battery negative cable has good connections (clean & retighten) to both body AND engine (starter mounting bolt).

Alt (generator) relay is not your problem (it's just a backup for the battery light should it go out so alt will still put out - in fact it's connected in parallel with battery light): http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/new...e-charging-system-relay-2g.html#post151081889

well I went and got a brand new Bosch Alt. Still didn't work. I think there is a break in the wires coming back from the alt. I'm going to get some 8 or 6 gauge wire today and run a wire from the alt to the battery and one from the battery to the fuse box to see if that'll work. Any other suggestion you guys have?

this happened to me all three lights where on and if i let off the gas at a stop it would bog down n stall so i had to keep it past 1k. so i tested the alternator and turns out it was for a 1.8 l so i got a 2.0 and put it in same stuff happened noticed the wires looked hacked up so i went to the junk yard and got the wires and spliced them and all that.. still didnt work noticed the ground from my tranny to my frame was broke so i replaced that and that took away the lights but i still bog out and stall =(

i just looked the ground on the tranny is it suppose to go from a bolt hole next to the shifter cable bracket to the chassis somewhere. I just noticed a bolt hole there with nothing in it.

yes sir its right next to a bracket the it goes to the frame next to it im not sure if not having it grounded would make that much of a effect but hey they have it grounded for a reason right

Well what is the black little box that mounts on the alternator? I never seen one on a 2g but there was one on my 1g oem alternator.

ok so i ran new wire from the alt to the side of the fuse box (the fuse) then one from the other side of the fuse to the battery. Radiator battery and coolant lights are still on. I noticed a fuse under the dash is blown it's the "TURN" fuse. I put in a new one but as soon as the ignition gets to the on posistion it blows. What is this used for? I know it's not turn signals cause all my turn signals work so I know it's not that.

EDIT: well after thinking about it I think maybe the circuit for the alternator indicator (the black plug on the alternator that goes to the dash) maybe be pinched in the harness or has gotten pinched along with the turn signal circuit. Maybe when the motor came out or went back in. That is why the turn signal fuse blows but still work and the indicator lights (for alt) on the dash are all on. I can't check voltage with my multimeter cause when i put it across the battery it archs really bad and the probes get quite hot. Also while the car is running i turned on the headlights then the blower motor turn signals all on and nothing got dim or anything. so I'm going to have it shipped over to a buddy of mine's shop and have them trace the wires back into the harness and see what's up.

Does this sound probable or did i force this to make sense in my head?
