Just installed an aftermarket head unit, amp and sub into my 99 gsx. I've installed/unistalled this same system in this car many times with no issues. Now, the battery is completely dead after leaving it off for more than a few hrs. I checked the amp and head unit when the car is off, and they are both off.

Before I check my alternator/battery, any ideas on what could be causing this? Seems to be too big a coincidence to be unrelated to the stereo install.

Thanks.

If its not something with the radio/amp wiring its most likely your alternator. Alternator diode works like a one way valve for electricity. It may charge fine when running but when the diode stops working it will draw power when the car is off.

Thanks. That actually helps explain some of my questions.
