Vancouver,
I dunno I went around town today dida bunch of errands (turn car on, off no problems ever), went to work, got off work.. car all the sudden wont start.. like try and turn it over, just dead, no lights, no beeping when the keys are in.. toast. Get a jump, works fine.. here we go thinking its ok.. go to the drivethru bank.. after about 15 mins of driving, I had to get something out of my glove box (which was locked) so i turn the car off and get my wallet out of the glove box, go to turn car on.. dead, nothing, no lights, no beeping when keys are in.. same as before.. so I PUSH my car out of the drive thru.. some guy came over and helped me out and gave me another jump which was nice.. lucky he had cables..

Anyways, he said it might be my alternator.. he said it might be the water level in my battery, he also said it could be the connections to my battery.. I dunno its weird cuz i have never had this problem with this car, ever.. after I got home, i did up my windows and I was thinking ok this thing wont start again, so I turn it off, and 2 secs later try and turn it on, DEAD! LOL..

I recently installed a CD player in my car (well i had this dolphin deck for hte longest time and worked fine till about 2 weeks ago). when I turn on the deck, it plays track 1 for example, then all the sudden teh deck will just turn off.. like it'll short out or something, i pulled the deck out and checked all my connections, put it back in.. and it plays.. plays for like 20 secs.. then juts shuts off.. turn it back on, play it again, shuts off after 10 seconds, then try again, 5 secs.. then it just flashes on and off for a sec and thats it.. I think something is wrong with the deck.. ike it might be fried or some moisture got in, cuz my car was parked over winter outside LOL.. the interior got a bit wet and maybe that was enough to make the deck not work.. as for the deck draining power out of my battery? I dunno about that.. since my battery problem just started happening today.. the fuses are all fine and everything.. i am so clueless about the CD player.. i think i'll just get a new one..

As far as my battery/ alernator.. or whatever.. i dunno what the problem is.. how much water should be inside the battery? is there a line somewhere? any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Yeah, might be either. Get them tested. Start with the battery because that's the easiest one to remove. I'm not so sure that the newer batteries nowadays take water but you can always check I guess. Alternator isn't that difficult to get out either. Good luck!

I have the same experience with you before. For my case, first is the connection on the battery. Second, my starter is dead...... Hope this help.

I just tried to jump start it rolling down the hill..

Have the key turned to start..Dropped it from first.. motor starts to run.. I hit the gas a bit.. nothing happens.. no lights are on or anything!! it just idles to a stop?? power steering doesnt work either.. so now its parked down my hill..

Is it the starter? do they just go like that? What about alternator? My connections are fine on the battery.. that was the first thing i checked.. and double checked..

FIgured it out..

It was the connections.. there were on tight, but heavily corroded.. there was only like a tiny little piece of metal connecting the battery.. so i sanded off the corrosion and crap and the thing turns over like perfect! :D
