Im posting this here because my best guess is the trans. Has anyone else had the motor buck really hard during full throttle accel. It bangs hard enough to turn on the wipers. This doesnt happen when the trans goes to shift it more in the mid to high rpm range and only at full throttle runs. In case you need to know the car is a 91 tsi a/t not many mods so far I switched to a 14b it has an intake and k/n filter mbc set at 14psi afpr and walbro pump and thats it. Any ideas on what might be up?

I dont know if this means anything to you guys but if the car doesnt hook up no banging. I had it out tonight and the roads have a little rain on them and the car spins the wheels through first and a little on the 2-3 upshift and no banging the wheels start spinning right where it normally bangs.

Ok found one more thing that affects the situation, if i let the car sit parked and running and the engine temp is at the middle of the temp guage the car wont bang for the first run after that until the flow from driving cools the temp down off the center of the gauge. Anyone have any ideas? This is the second dsm ive owned but the first auto and i never had this issue with my last one. Actually this is the first fast auto car ive ever owned so any help would be appreciated.

boost leak? maybe it doesnt do it when you are spinning because there isnt as great of a load on the motor and its not boosting as hard? dunno.. kind of sounds like a boost issue to me

i dont mean to bring this thread back from the dead but has anyone come up with more ideas? I'm having the same or a very similar problem. I know it isnt a boost leak though. It seems almost random and only at wot. Like it has trouble shifting and has to try to shift twice or decides to shift then doesnt?? very annoying.

I have a '98 Auto Talson TSI AWD. Injen Air Intake, Cone Air Filter, MBC @ 15psi, 1g bov. Could it have anything to do with my Air/Fuel ratio, it doesnt seem as steady as it used to be. I read it using my Apex-i Turbo Timer.. is that an accurate reading?

Didya check the spark plugs for incorrect gapping or just worn out dead plugs? Could definitely be a cause.
