I was running 15psi for weeks until I bumped the boost controller a little and gotten 25psi boost. It scared me greatly at first but after the first few runs it did fine (of course seeing that much boost and with no problems who would cut back on the boost level). Anyways rode around on it later that day sometill late night, everything was great and I was not getting into it at all only for the exception of taking a friend for a trip down the road. After the trip I sat there in his driveway for 30+ minutes at idol. After leaving and going up the road it seemed not to have any power and making a strange niose, I pressed on the gass to see if it would change with the rpms and it did and also the boost came in as well as it normally does. After pressing on the gas a few times to see if it was constant which it was not. Seemed as it would grab and sometime it would not when press in the gas. Anyways I stop cut the boost down and called my mechanic and told him I was on my way to his house b/c I was having problems.

We took it up the road (him driving) and we both noticed that there was no boost but vacuum was normal -14psi(not sure this is normal just what it has been since rebuild). When we accalerated it would jump to 0psi and no further. He did a leak test to the intercooler pipe and found nothing. He did see that the tubine wheel was rubbing against the compressor walls (I guess more so bouncing off) give it the wierd noise I heard. He also mentioned that the wheel was loser feeling than it was when he put it on.

For the information I am hoping to get a second opinion. Slowboy said I would need to replace the center section all togather and that a rebuild would not help me.

Sorry for the long thread but I am need of some DSMers knowledge and advice. If the turbo is shoot and the money the way it is I will be purchasing a MHI EVO III 16g

Last time I saw those symptoms (my own car, original T25), after taking the turbo out of the car it was very obvious that the turbine wheel had snapped cleanly off the shaft and was bouncing around in the O2 housing.

HUH...didnt want to hear that for sure.

I have not yet token off the turbo yet.

I will have that done today

Thanks for the info and I will let you know what is the turn out of that
