I followed the directions on Vfaq.com installing my SAFCI on my 2g. Everything seemed to be hooked up properly and the buttons lit up but the display wouldn't show. We redid the ground wire and it still did not come on.

Any suggestions?

If you know someone who has a safc that works try yours on their car, if it works u wired something wrong

It could be that you wired it wrong, but if you are 101% that you have it right and have done it according to the SAFC, then you may have a faulty SAFC, return it and get another.

It was used when I purchased it with exactly 2997 miles on it

Who did you buy it from?? Someone on this site?? Sounds like a bad deal to me. Try and see if you can get your money back if your 101% sure that it wasnt your wiring thats causing problems.

I had that same issue with my old SAFC. take out the four screws and take a look at the small connector that is soldered to the circuit board. See if you can move it. If the metallic contacts come off the board, then it's just as simple as resoldering that.
