bad idle after boost leak test..found source, but why??

hi, i recently did a boost leak test, and everything was fine. i hooked all my connections back up and the car idled horribly. the battery and alternator are both in good condition (checked) but i could hear a weird hissing noise coming from the intake manifold. i disconnected the vacuum hose which is located right in he front of the manifold (i have a mbc, but i believe it connected to the bov) and my idle went up and was at about 1000rpms and held steady. when reconnected, the car would bog back down to 300 and below rpms.. whats the problem??

I'll wager you have a vacuum line connected incorrectly or perhaps you valve cover breather line is clogged.

false alarm.. turns out after 2 1/2 hrs of diag. , the maf wasnt hooked up.... its always the simple things
