Back seat Spyder Cover Mod? Tonneau [Merged 1-7]

actually the one piece i am more interested in, and will pay whatever i need to pay to get it come next summer would be a carbon fiber spyder trunklid. I want it without any holes in it and minus the third brake light, and i dont want an overlay, i want an actual carbon fiber skin on it (underside bracing i dont care about) any chance you might make one of these?

Just to clear up what the price is... normally we sell the Racer X speed cover for $390.00 plus shipping and handling. That cost is a variable because of the different distances between your location and our facility.

If you are close... you can always stop by and pick it up.

We have painted them in the past... the variable with that is... the color of paint. Some paints are more expensive than others. The covers come in primer so you can paint them yourself.

Right now we can sell them to member of this board for $300.00 plus shipping and handling.

Shipping is high on these pieces because of their size. It is close to the same size as a front bumper cover.

I dont know about the carbon fiber trunk lid. Sounds interesting but we dont have plans to do anything like that in the near future. Look for a hard top to replace your rag top within the next 6 months.

dammit i just got done doing the fiberglass and sanding for a subwoofer fascia just like that. mines gonna be alot better looking though, integrading something like that fascia with the subs.

I talked to him at one point, it was 400ish unpainted and before shipping, or maybe 400ish painted, I dont remember.

If a cover at all should be made for the spyder it should cover the entire opening...IE over the top as well. Looks silly when its "half" like that one oabove i mo.....

now that i'm here, i've got a question that's been boggling me. i saw a nice mustang gt with a tonneau top the other day and i was wondering if anyone knew of any place we could possibly get one for 2g spyders??? i've got a 96 GST, and i am dying to know if i they make those....

There is (was) a guy here that made them, it was about 400+shipping, and that wasn't painted if I recall correctly. I almost got one, but then I decided that going fast was more important (plus I didn't want to pay truck freight).

A tonneau cover is something you use to cover a truck bed so no I have to idea. Are you sure it's not something else. We sell tonneau covers here at work and nothing for cars though.

Big bucks at a dealer. Keep checking ebay. They sell occasionally there. There are many for 2000+ but they do not look the same.

Tonneau covers were on convertibles long before anyone ever thought they needed one on a shit hauler.

I saw a spyder on Ebay had this it goes over the top of the back seats and stops at the back of the driver/pass. seats. It covers the backseat from the top. The one I saw looked to be fiberglassed it was made by a company called "Racer-X" or something anyone know what Im talking about? I made it look like a coupe.

They only ever made the plastic or leather ones so Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass will have to be custom because they dont make them. Or do you mean the Tonue (sp?) covers that covers up the back seat as well.
