Hey everybody! I'm back in the DSM game and ive never been happier with it. This is DSM #7 and i said at 6 i wouldnt get another, but I said that with 3,4 and 5 as well. I got away from it with BMWs but I'm finally back with a built bottom end 2gb gsx. I picked it up for.. well I'd rather not say but it included all the paperwork and emails from the build and the guy that was building it back in the day. The motor is healthy other than some needed valve seals. I bought it with a blown up ported polished and clipped 16g and had it rebuilt. Thing is... not enough power! i have a buddy with a built sti on a conservative low 300's to the wheels and another with a 370z with bolt ons putting down 321. So... This little 16g is not doing it for me and i want to show their wallets that I can blow them out of the water with the good old cheap dsm. It's currently in for paint and I'm waiting on its arrival, but Since I've had it I put 900 miles on it including a trip to Conneticut from South Jersey and it didn't skip a beat.
I have Eagle Rods and Ross pistons with a 1g head and arp bolts. Act2600, and the basic bolt ons and front mount along with the 255. This 16g has to go. Has to. I'm thinking an HX35 with a goal of 400hp give or take. I think that would be a good daily number that can destroy these guys and my clutch will hold it.

My List that I have:
hx35
bolton housing
injectors (But what size?)
Tuning ( whats the most user friendly? not too expensive either. I'm not going to run a safc.)
Don't really think I'd need anything else. Maybe a rad and slim fan.

What do you guys think of my idea?

Idea looks pretty good. My advice:

hx35 - Skip it. Go with an FP green or Red. The bolt on housings aren't worth it for the holsets(flow wise)
bolton housing - No longer needed
injectors (But what size?) - FIC 1100 or 1650 Hi-Z (depending on your fuel)
Tuning - DSMLink/ECMLink. Hands down.

DSMLink will get you where you need to go. I'm in a build right now and this will be the last thing on my list to add in before i fire it up

ALWAYS DSMlink. FP Green with get you 400AWHP without too much struggle. HX will give you room to grow which I'm sure you'll want to then swap housing and minifold and such and tune then ta-dah.... 500whp. Of course it's not that simple but it'll give you room to grow

I'd be using 93 since e85 isn't here. I thought the hx because of cost. I know I'd be able to get some money back with my 16g but a 1000 on a turbo is mad imo if I'm only really looking for 400ish. I'm going to open up the ecu and inspect as there is a chance that a po installed a dsm link(hopefully but doubtful) I'm guessing the 1100s for injectors? Would 1200s be safe? I'll have to get a afpr as well I meant to add that to the list.

Do the HX-35 then. You'll hit your goal for cheaper and with room to grow. Also to reply and have that grey box in your response click the reply button on the bottom right of the post you want to incorporate.
