Awful grinding noise from tranny!

So I have a 96 gst manual tranny and I just put a new release bearin,clutch with pp, a clutch slave, clutch master cyclinder , New valve cover. When I start the car what seems to be the tranny makes a awful grinding noise and don't bother to keep I running I release the key before the engine actually turns on. My tranny has a leak so I think it's lack of gear oil but idk please help me thank you.

My car seems to do this too. I don't think mine is coming from the trans itself though. Upon attempting to start, it grinds. It seems as if the starter is making contact with the flywheel wrong and causing it. I am about to inspect my starter and flywheel. Maybe that'll give you a few ideas until someone else responds.

Did this problem occur before?

Are you sure that you put the release bearing the right way? Did it bind?

Also make sure that the clutch disk is in the right position, i have seen them fit backward, especialy on the aftermarket kits.

Make sure that the starter is bolted on and not loose.

Also check the shifter linkage maybe its binding a little bit, making one of the synchros touch a gear.

Check if the oil level is at the right position, and also check for metallic debris.

Yea that's what Im thinking cause I put the oil in and still same thing

I am going to pull the starter and check mine. I will report back here and let you know what I find. I am probably replacing my starter anyway because it's wearing out and is like 7 years old
