so i just recently upgraded to a turbo on my 98 GS. i dont plan on running more than 8-10 psi cause i havent done any egine internals. the wastegate is fixed to 10 psi right now but i cant go past 8 without getting a fuel cut, so im not able to floor it or redline. im using the walbro 255 and a 12:1 fmu

i just got some 98 dodge avenger fuel injectors and im wondering if i will be fine with them and not get fuel cuts.

Bigger injectors won't help you any. In order to harness the potential of those larger injectors, you would need some sort of electronic means to stimulate them (i.e. MS, AEM EMS, or a piggy back system). By installing the 12:1 FMU, you've added physical means to dump more fuel, but, like you found out, the FMU has its limits at around 8psi. If anything, you can upgrade your FMU to a S-FMU (contact Vortech) and install some bigger injectors to let you boost up to 10psi.

no i do have the missing link. the thing is before i fixed the wastegate i was able to boost up 11psi and i would get a fuel cut alot earlyer, and now that i opend it some i get it at 8psi. so i dont know whats going on.

What size avenger injectors do you have? If you got the stock ones, they are going to be the same size as your stock ones if they are from the 4 banger. But basically, just stick with 8 psi. You still have stock internals, and the fact that an 12:1 FMU and stock injectors can't go above 8 psi seems like a blessing, since your running a bigger risk at anything above that on stock internals.

well i got the stock avenger fuel injectors from the v6. i will try and restrict the wastegate some more see if that works.

thanks for youre help.:thumb:

Well I'm just going to go with some educated guessing here because I searched a little on the avenger forums but didn't find anything. The V6 Avenger comes with a 2.5L stock. Doing the math, I would assume that V6 injectors would be smaller then your stock injectors since your 420a is .5L per cylinder and the v6 is only .43L per cylinder which means less displacement which means less need for fuel.
