Ok id like to get a post going that has everyone useing the Apexi AVCR as a boost controller. I have searched a bunch for settings and i cant really find anythig good to go off of. Now im not really doing this for me or anything, i have used the AVCR for somet ime now in a few cars and im fairly familiar with it.

What i woud like to do is have everyone that has theres programmed to post up there settings so that people have a place to look when tuning theres. and yes i know that not every car is the same blah blah blah, but its a place to start at least for the people that are lost.

Well anyway, go ahead and post up what ya got. i dont really care much about stock cars with boost controllers cause thats an easy mod. but if you have an upgraded turbo and some major mods, please post away and let everyone know what your running.

thanks a lot,
Chris

I was looking for the same information. Mine just came in and i havent installed it yet. But the problem is that i dont know where to begin. Im not retarded but i am not familiar with the system yet. For now i need to know how to set it for stock but in a few months it will be with a different turbo.

My current setup - Walbro 190, 550's, 3" maf/maft, ported 14b @15-17 psi, 2.5 pressbent exhaust. I think that is all that pertains to this subject. Complete list in profile.

dpb - When initially setting your boost through the avcr, make sure you have an equivalent ratio setting for the duty cycle. I think for mine, I increase the duty cycle 2 for every .5 bar increment of boost. For a stock equivalent, you'll probaly want to run about .55 bar (and adjust the duty cycle accordingly).

super - I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I have been using mine for a while now and am very impressed with it. But actual information on using it is limited. The one thing I would like to now more about is the "NEPoint". My understanding right now is that the NEPoint, set differently for each gear, is when you should start to spool. I havent really played with it much, but it could be very valuable if its what I think it is.

Some other information = My stock (450 cc) injectors were around 90% at idle, and I can't remember what they were at WOT. But, with my stock injectors, I was hitting fuel cut. I put in some 550's and my duty cycle dropped to about 80% at idle. I no longer hit fuel cut. I know this isn't a setting you can change, I just thought I would share.

With my controller set at 1.1 bar, I will actually only boost to about 1.06 at WOT. This holds true for me at different boost levels also. I was wondering if other people with different setups go over what theres is set at (or under).

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but hopefully its a start.

I set my AVCR to 1.3 bar and increased the Duty Cycle as high as I could without it overboosting. I got it as high as 63% before it overshot 1.3 bar so I knocked it back down to 62%. As I raised the duty cycle the harder it pulled and hit max boost sooner with every increase. What a difference changing the Duty Cycle makes. I've been driving around on the default 20% for over a year! :notgood: I haven't played with the Ne-point yet. Maybe tomorrow on my way to work.

when my avcr was working correctly, I was at 1.5 bar with a duty cycle of 42 and It would hold 1.48 bar. im externally gated with a 1.15 bar spring set.
