I have an AutoMeter a/f gauge and it has three wires. Black, white, and purple. I hooked black to ground, white to power, and then purple to pin #76 on the ECU. It is supposed to be o2 sensor front. Is that the correct wire? The gauge just sits at one bar red(lean) and doesn't move. Did I connect it to the wrong wire? I know there was o2 sensor front, 02 sensor rear, 02 sensor heat front and 02 sensor heat rear. Any help would be appreciated!
It's on a 97 eclipse gsx fyi!

O2 front on pin 76 is right. Make sure you have a good connection.

On a side note, i hope you are not using this to tune. They are very inaccurate and are basically nothing more than a pretty light show and a distraction while driving.

If it were me, i would get a more useful gauge such as oil pressure or coolant temp sensor.

NOOOO definetly not to tune. It was on the car when I bought it but it wasn't hooked up so I figured why not hook it up...at least I won't have an empty gauge pod. I'll double check my connection on it. A weird thing though is when I was testing to see if the gauge would even light up, I hooked + and - to battery and the gauge would do a full sweep real fast through all the colors...from red to green. When I turn the headlights on now(power for gauge is hooked up to it) it just sits at the red. Could it just be a bad connection to #76 pin?

Are you sure you didn't touch the sensor wire to 12volts. If you did, you could have fried the gauge. Happened to me when i got my first car....long time ago..LOL

Ok I didn't touch the sensor wire to it, I'm pretty sure. I remember reading that I may need to let the car warm up and run for a while before it will register? I'm going to be driving it tonight a bit so I'll recheck the wiring and see if warming it up makes any difference.(I was too tired last night to go for a drive and I worked today so I took my Accord instead).

it doesnt take more than a few min. to let the guage warm the connection. It starts on red and works its way up.
