Alright so I just got done installing my a/f guage in my eclipse just to get a minimal idea of how im running and take up that 3rd spot in my pillar. I hooked everything up good. I have the ground/power/and sensor wire all tapped straight in to the ecu in all the correct terminals. But here is the problem. It isnt always doing anything. Sometimes when i am driving in a low rpm it will spike back and fourth but then everthing will go black and then maybe 2 min's later have one red bar. It just seems to keep cutting in and out of bein on and then off. Im positive I did an excellent job installing everthing. Is it that I have a loose ground (which I dont think is the problem) or could my MAS be messed up all together. If anyone else has experianced this problem or knows of it please write a response I would really appreciate it. :dsm: :thumb:

Sometimes it just stays off even when im giving it. I could just be running that lean. Cause when it does seem to work im in between lean and a little into stoich. I think I will try taking out the mas and gently playing with that bolt siliconed on the bottom that adjusts a/f maybe a slight turn clockwise will fix my problem???

does the gauge move back and forth at idle?? like 16g-95gsx said, if your in the gas and it pins black or red, there is a possibility that your running really lean OMG (which is scary) if it just moves around alot whiler your in the gas then i really wouldn't worry to much, becuase the simple fact that those a/f gauges are really not accurate, so there just there to take space (like in my case) :thumb:

p.s i would really recommend dsmlink, this way you can see your a/f ratio and know exactly whats goin on in your motor (running lean, bad mas signal....etc) best $800 i've spent on my car by far :thumb:

Sometimes it pins to red, and no when im at idle it does nothing. Am I really running that lean. S***!!! Like i said ill mess with the screw on the maf and see if I get a new result. Maybe thats why my car sounds like a honda past 5000rpm....????

although thos things are not to accurate i dont like that fact that it pins on red at idle....thats a scarry site.......did you connect the a/f guage before or after the maft??? if its possible i would recommend trying to get back to factory while keeping the a/f gauge connected so you can eliminate problems.... :thumb:

messing with the maf screw will only make it leaner if u hvant messed with it allready

A/F gauges should be connected to the stereo output, not the ECU.

It makes the readings no less accurate.

I just followed one of the tech guides to install the a/f gauge. It was very well written and explained things clearly. It worked for me. But I can see where your coming from when you say dont tap into the ecu wires. Just a note: if you have a better way to do the install, write a tech guide. Maybe you can help someone befor they mess with the ecu. :thumb:
