Auto Transmission Sound -2gb Spyder

Hey everyone, I was just wondering what the stock automatic transmission sounds like in a 2gb Spyder. Mine is really loud and "whiny". For example, when I'm on the freeway, the only thing that I can really hear is the trans, or if the rpm's are above 2500. Actually, now that I think about it, it only does it when I'm using the gas peddle. It wont make that "whiny" sound if I dont give it gas.

Check your tranny's fluid's make sure it's full you must check it while the car is on. if low put some in.

Why do you think it is the transmission?

What happens if you rev up the engine in Neutral or Park?

i checked the fluid, its good.

when its in park/ nuetral it doesnt do it. im thinking its the torque conver part of the trans. it only makes that whine when pressing on the gas peddle, slightly or flooring it.

hmmm ill have to try it w/out the overdrive on, just to rule that out.

IF yo hear the noise in drive and overdrive but not in park or nuetral. Its a internal problem in the tranny you will need to pull the unit and get the unit inspected to see what will need to be replaed. you should be able to tell if it's the torque conver when you pull the unit bye seeing what the fuild it the torque conver look's like.

just a tad of info too, i had my trans rebuilt at the end of March (2009) and it includes a 2yr/24,000 mile warrenty.

so is that sound incorrect? i am not sure as i have never been inside of another eclipse before.

+1 on taking it back to the shop, mines auto and it sure as hell doesn't sound like that.

alright ill bring it to their attention and see what they say and tell them that other eclipse drivers dont have theirs sounding like mine.
