auto to 5-speed swap

Hey everyone, im new here and have a simple question. Im doing a 5-speed swap on my auto 97 gst, and I was wondering if I need the wireing harness and the ecu for the 5-speed? I have bought everything needed and today I was thinking and that crossed my mind. I completly forgot about it and im not to sure if I need it or not.
