I would sell the hood, the bumpers and side skirts so you can make some extra cash. And you could buy stock parts used. check out the junk yards, sometimes they are expensive some times they are cheap. and paint is not expensive labor is, so you could paint it yourself for cheaper than 1500, even if you had to buy a paint gun, big air compressor, and paint

Thinking the same thing, and then some. If you part the car out, your mod list is how many pages now? People make good money parting out. Otherwise I think you have a fine vehicle that need a little TLC, good luck with your decision.

I had a 1999 GS 420a Turbo Auto just like yours that I sold for $6,500 on Craigslist! She had 125,000 miles too . Then I ran out the next day and bought another DSM.....but this time I got the AWD 5 speed money pit

My suggestion would be to keep the DSM and also buy a cheaper used truck wih your 6,000 for winter and Daily driving. Right now trucks are ALL over the place for cheap cause of Gas prices.

Why would you want a DSM? Why not a Supra or 240sx or any other car? It's a rhetoric question. Trucks are great vehicles, especially ones like the Pathfinder, Toy PU, 4Runner, Jeeps, etc etc. With the right buildup, you'll go places you'll never go with any other sports car. Offroading has piqued my interest and I have been looking for either a XJ, Toy PU or a 4Runner. It'll also make for a great winter car. While others are stuck digging their vehicles out, I'll just climb over the bank of snow in front of me.

Dude get an XJ you'll love it! I have more fun in my Jeep than I do in my Talon
Off roading is the best!~

Trust me thought, my Jeep is just as big a money pit as my Talon....So don't ever think that truck is going to cost you NO money to keep it running.....EVERY CAR/TRUCK IS A MONEY PIT. Get used to it

Well its official, the talon aint goin nowhere, I put it in autotrader and sombody wanted to see it so i went out and buffed her up and had her spotless and I sat there for like an hour thinking about all the work i have put into the car, All the late nights working on her with the radio blasting, all the plans i had for her, And i just couldn't do it, So i called the guy back and told him i sold it. I just cant believe how much it touched me when i thought about a stranger driving off in MY car. Its kinda like another guy screwing your girlfriend .



So this week im going to start prepping it for paint!

dude i have the same problem i get attached to my cars. that feeling i get when i drive it, to me its worth more than the money and time i put in to it. i have owned lots of cars in my life but the ones i have build like my evo8 my gsx, the GTI and the 911, i can never sell m they are like family. i am happy to know i am not the only one, good luck with your car.

I knew it was only a matter of time until you realized you wouldn't be able to part with her I think I'm going to have the same problem once I find my GSX. I'm going to want to sell the GST, but am not sure I'll be able to do it. Maybe I'll make it more of a daily driver.

Good choice on keeping it though! Are you just getting a new white paint job or are you changing the color?

Yeah my suggestion is to turn it back into a 2gb Talon with the stock 2gb talon bumper. Then paint it Cadilac white with a BLACK top and black wing. BADASS!

No... I love a clean 2gb talon just as much as the next guy, But thats not what my car is. My car is meant to be different, Which it is.

I'll Admit I used to have an Eclipse with a bodykit...but it's more of a target than anything else. Not to mention...the constant repairing of cracking fiberglass. I felt like I was always re-painting my car.

I sold my bodykit'd up GS for a TSi AWD, I gotta say it was well worth it.

BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!
