I was just curious if i would need new Connecting rod bolts. the motor im rebuilding had 90k on it. I heard ARP made rob studs, but according to their catolog i only say rod bolts. What are the advantages of using these, over just using the stock ones. Im just doing a stock rebuild of a 1G, but i want to do the right supporting mods now, incase i might want to up the HP later!

I've never seen nor heard of rod studs.
Since you have it all taken apart, you might as well put in the apr bolts. Cheap upgrade from stock.

if and when you put the arp bolts in the rod these have to be checked and done by your local machine shop ,because if the rod eggs it has to be resized by them . and yes they come as press stud and nut like the stock ones ,

i ran 25psi and 75 shot of nitrous with a 20g with no problems .

ARP Pro Series Rod Bolts from HorsepowerFreaks

They have a head, so it's technically a "bolt" not a "stud".

The benefit to the ARP's is a higher yield strength - they're stronger, and that will increase the power handling capacity of the stock connecting rod. The factory rod bolts are the weakest link with the factory rods.

And yes, the big end of the rod will always need to be machined after installing ARP rod bolts.

the rod bolts align the cap, when you remove/replace them it can throw off the alignment because there are no dowels. also, the higher clamping force that the ARP's are capable of may cause the big end to become oval shaped

awesome... thanks a lot man! Ill be sure to get that done!
