Hey guys, I just recently picked up a 1000 mile old apexi n1 3in catback and i need a downpipe to fit. My car already has full 3in straight pipe with an knock off apexi muffler. I am looking to spend the least amount of money but i don't want any fitment issues. I spent 100 bucks on the exhaust and i saw the punishment downpipe but i hear it is press bent which will prevent some flow. I am also going to a hx35 with BEP housing next year so i will need the flow. Any suggestions on a cheaper downpipe with easy fitments. Good ebay brands??

i had a t-pros 3" stainless downpipe\test pipe with my N1 3" on my 99 gsx. it was hard to get one of the nuts on the bottom of the 02 housing to tighten becuase the fit was so close. i think that brand is pretty cheap on ebay...

ebay ones, from observation in the huge ebay exhaust thread, they seem to be all made from the same place and each seller selling as their own brand. it's a straight design eliminating the cat. stainless steel mandrel bent. 2.5" before flex, 3" after.. this is normal and serves for matching up to stock o2 housing. even the more premium priced RRE downpipes are designed similarly.

where the downpipe ends, it necks down to 2.75", again pictures in the big thread, the .25 should not hurt anything, and is not big of a difference to be a problem mounting up to a catback that starts at 3", i know from experience. the problem arises if your catback is crap and starts out at 2.25 or 2.5. if not ebay downpipes should be fine.

some have said they got a downpipe with megan badge on it, if you take a look at several ebay downpipes for the 2g, they all look the same, if not indeed are. get megan racing if you want some kind of more reputable brand and customer service, but if you are "hardcore" cheapo dsmer, save your self the extra $40+ megan charges and get the one with no name

Well i saw a downpipe in the classifieds and hopefully he will go low enough for me to handle it. It does kinda suck that there are so many different sizes throughout the pipe. the downpipe i have on my car is 2.5 press bent to the flew them straight 3in after that. Its just that the hole thing is one piece. I need to get a o2 housing so i might as well get an ebay o2 and get that downpipe from that guy. It is a megan one btw. thanks guys.

Well to post this up so it is in the forums I had a N1 3in catback and a megan 3in downpipe. The two did not match up at all. The megan was to short. So i had my muffler man extend the downpipe to fit the catback. it cost me another 35 bucks because i also had a wideband bung welded in. SOOO everyone knows this is what you need to do to fit the megan downpipe and the apexi catback. Total cost of new exhaust. 250 dollars. catback-100, downpipe-90, welding-35- misc bolts and gaskets-25
