Apexi EGT probe too long?

Just replaced my EGT gauge from Greddy to Apexi and I noticed that the probe is too long to fit in the current #1 runner tap. Can I bend this?

or should I just invest in a TRE probe?

Bending it would be a very bad idea. If you crack it or miss something and it breaks off then you are s.o.l. when it meets your turbine wheel. I would invest in a TRE probe if I were you.

Depending on how the thermocouple (probe) was made, it may get damaged/break if you try to bend it. What type of fitting do you have installed in the mani, as most egt probe fittings are just a compression fitting, that allow you to adjust how much probe length you want sitting inside of the runner?

I'll take a picture tonight to show. Basically, I'm just trying to see if I can use the same bung I have for my old Greddy probe. As you've stated, I may be able to get away with the compression fitting, but I have to re-evaluate how that works.

This may be a dead thread, as I've just ordered a TRE probe. Either way, it can be useful for others.
