My Dejon tool intake manifold does not slide on because the two top alignment studs are offset from the ones on the intake manifold. I can grind out enouph to make it fit probably but I was very disapointed with the quality. $410 and I have to modify it:notgood: :notgood:

This is not a bash against DejonTool, but I've never bought a part from them that fit without some modification. I would try calling them to see if they've identified any potential issues with that part and what they recommend.

Hang in there,

Andy

Dejon recently sent me a UICP that had damaged paint, and their decal was applied upside down. Give me a break!! :toobad:

I bought my intake and uicp's from them, it was a struggle to get the icp on, but they fit nicely. no quams with them at all. the mani prob you have really sucks though, thats pretty $$$ to have to modify it to fit. i got my exhaust mani from sbr, there new cast mani, and it fits perfectly, a direct bolt on, and it was only $250. might want to send yours back and pick up an sbr, just my .02$

Call them and tell them, Rather then coming on the forum and bashing them. If you are un-happy with a product you recieved, You should call them up and explain exactly what is wrong, And what you would like done to fix the problem.

I agree with the above post. Just e-mail or call and let him know, Dave is a great guy and im sure he'd be willing to help. Maybe they sent a 2g intake manny just by mistake. Don't waste your breath on here bitching about it, just call them and see what they can do. From my personal experience (o2 back exhaust, uicp, and intake) all their products have fit extremely well, and perform great. And any time i've had a question or comment about their stuff there has been an e-mail sent back that same day or the next day. So i commend their excellent service!

TurboAWDKid, he is talking about the dejon SMIM, an INTAKE manny, not an exhaust. Dejon (to my knowledge) does not have a cast exhaust manny they sell. But i do agree about the sbr cast manny, it looks awesome.

Oops! Sorry! I completely looked right over that! Either way though, that is a lot of money for something that doesnt fit right. My apologies for my mistaken post.

That was my point, alot of money and my dad could have probably done better welds and machine work at work. They did offer to have me resend it back or get store credit. I took the credit. I would normaly think this was a simple mistake. But I have heard some bad stories about their products. I just thought anybody thinking of buying a smim from them might want to read about my problem.

OK, read about YOUR problem with their SMIM. ONE product. I've got 3. And they all work great. I think you're a little quick to judge. I mean hell, we drive dsm's. If everyone reacted to things like you did, no one would ever mod a dsm for how "unreliable" they are. So maybe the intake manny isn't great, don't warn people about the whole company saying "I had one thing it sucked, but. . . i know "other people who had stuff and didn't like it". Thats real weak dude.

Actualy I have bought 3 products, not 1 from them and everyone had problems fitting including a uicp, intake pipe, and smim.:tease:

same exact problem as you, I told them and they said they thought I was the only one. sure sounds like it, :notgood: . I sent it back to them and waited for them to do the work and send it back, I dont have very many tools on hand. waste of like two weeks. my flange was also warped, and needed some sanding, wasted a lot of time because of the leaks it caused.

all in all, I would say everything from dejon I have bought worked, EXCEPT THIS DAMN SMIM.... DON'T BUY IT. everything else is fine though, I have their 3 inch exhaust, fits perfectly, there upper and lower intercooler pipes, fits fine, there intake pipe, would have been nicer if it was a little shorter, but your average dsmer doesn't use a 9 inch k&n airfilter, so I think that was my fault. I think thats all I bought from them, it all worked fine except the smim. Just don't buy their smim and your fine.

Well, Again.. Maybe the better thing to do would get in contact with them directly over the phone, And tell them exactly what you are posting.
in my opinion this is something that should be known, more than one of us have had a problem with this product, and I personally contacted them and the response I got was, to my best memory, "the laser cutter thingy we use (obviously those were not his exact words) is very accurate, but can sometimes screw up, if you send it back to us, we will fix it." To me it seems like they are unwilling to accept that something in the manufacturing process is bad and causing those two same exact holes to not fit. Starting a thread would tell people, there is a problem with this product, but there other products are fine (cannot be stressed enough) is something helpful to do with the community. The manufacture was notified and did not care to fix the problem, so now the consumers should be notified.

again, this is my opinion, you guys will have other opinions, so bashing me is pointless.

^^I don't disagree that people should know there is a potential problem. But i DO disagree how people are comming in here saying things like "Dejon sucks their sh$t doesn't fit". That gets nothing accomplished. If you have an issue, explain it and make sure you let whatever company who made it know you had a problem. Be proactive with things like this. Im not necessarily saying this thread is a major culprit of bashing (though it has a little), but im just sick of seeing people talk shit about a product they've only delt with once. Espically seeing as how if you ask many of the tuners on here, they will speak VERY highly of dejon. Including me.

It sucks that things didn't go well for you guys, and it sucks a good company like dejon is putting out a not so good product. But there are more mature ways to deal with it. tstkl and original poster - I am glad to hear you both got things solved with them more or less. 92tsifwd, what are you going to do with your dejon store credit?

In no way was I bashing you. You're right, This problem should be known to other potential buyers, But this is not the place for it. There are vendor feedback sites, Goodguybadguy, Etc etc. Goodluck with your problem. If ''ANYONE'' that had this problem, Actually took the time to call dejontool and explain their problem, Maybe we woulden't have these problems, Just maybe?

D.T. products installed on my last 3 DSMs i've owned, 100% happy. I been to his place when I lived in Ohio couple years ago, at that time he made all this stuff himself. Last time I checked, that makes him human.

Hope you get it worked out, Happy Boostin! :talon: :laser: :dsm:

In the case of my UICP, it's not worth the effort of coordinating a fix to cosmetic issues. However, it rightly affects my opinion of the vendor's standards.

There's nothing unreasonable about making quality assurance issues known to other forum members. It's up to everyone to use the available info for an informed decision. There's no sense in self-censoring when people are specifically performing research on this site to find good products and avoid hassles.

I won't know how it performs for about a month because of a trans build and no, I still have not modified the intake to fit because my air compressor broke so, do you see the problems this causes just because they did not test fit it. He said when I called that they do not test fit any of the smim's. Also there was weld splader on the flange and weld behind the tb flange so, for anyone who relies on vendors to come through on their part I think it is trully crap. The credit I got was two conectors for a 3.5" maft and spacers for other pipes which they probably made for $5. If I had it to do over I would have went with a different manifold. Also on a separate matter I was told that the 4.6 stang 2 valve tb was the one to use with this manifold but it does not match. Do I need a 94-95 mustang tb or a 86-93?

Why did they tell you to use the 4.6 stang tb impiticularly? Yeah I won't get to test mine for a week or two but I plan on doing a big write up as I haven't seen anyone say anything for or against this smim.

How does the DEJON SMIM perform that's what really maters?
I have a 14b, so I can't talk for obvious reasons.

one thing I must say is, I LOVE the ocational -15 hg/in vac at idle I get.... lets me know that leak I spent so long to "fix" isn't there anymore....

personally I want to go to a magnus just to eliminate all the hassle. the flange on the dejon smim is so small compaired to the magnus, its much more likely to leak, and also, a warpped flange from the beginning didn't help.

I also did a LOT of mods at the same time, so the increase in performance wasn't completely the intake manifold, and I also only have the butt dyno to go by. I dont know if the intake manifold added anyting at all, or 90% of the increase. with the turbo I have, my guess is close to nothing. Stock cams and turbo will make this mod pretty pointless.

MAKE SURE: don't use the stock intake manifold bolts, get a set of m 8x26 or whatever stock size is but two mm shorter. The stock ones might bottom out, and when the dealer gave me a "new one" aka a 30mm long one they pulled out there ass, it stripped the threads in the head after bottoming out. that is the whole reason why I have a leak pretty much. I think I would have been much happier spending the extra 100 or so bucks on a magnus.

again, everything else from dejon I have works great. except for something stupid I did with the exhaust, no comment....
