Looking for any 2g owners that mounted a boost gauge or any gauge for that matter where the cigarette lighter is. I was wondering how you did it. Did you have to cut the hole any bigger or did the gauge just fit in there? Was looking for a write up or how to on here but found nothing yet. Thanks in advance.

I didn't, but I did "temporarily" mount it to my steering column, and it's lasted longer than some marriages. Sits on left side, on top of a cut strip of black antislip mat for carpet, then wrapped tight with electrical tape. I can change it easily without damaging anything if I choose, but I actually like the location!

I've done this on a previous 2g and yes you have to cut the hole out bigger, I used air tools. It is nice and sleek but it sucks trying to watch the boost gauge and do pulls at the same time as it is not in your view. You have to move yours eyes down too much.

I agree with having to look down while doing pulls. That might be a better location for a gauge you don't always have to keep an eye on. I know some people don't like the look of it, but the A-pillar really is a great place to put a boost gauge because you can glance over at it during pulls without taking your eyes off the road.

my problem is as of right now I have three gauges. Two of them are digital and will be going in a speedometer housing mount like some people have. That leaves the boost gauge to mount somewhere. My a pillar is basically being held on by the headliner as the tabs that hold it on are broken. That means I cannot get just a single gauge pod that mounts to the a pillar as surely the weight of it added to the a pillar will pull it off. I could always get a three pillar gauge pod but keep in mind, I have a spyder and those are hard to come by
