cigarette lighter

i just got done searching the forums and the one thread about this was closed. basically my cigarette lighter does not work but the light around it does and its too late to pull fuses in the dark right now. i looked in the fuse box in the engine bay and did not find anything that resembled anything having to do with cigarette lighters. the one fuse box inside on the driver side is missing the top cover that has all the labelings on it. just wondering if anyone knows from previous experience where to find this fuse?

Is the wire with the slide on clip slid on the metal part sticking out? I believe that is the power wire. If anyone has removed the center section of the interior that part must be removed.

huh? i tried switching out to another cigarette lighter a while back and it did not solve the problem. i now have the original one back in and im just trying to find where the fuse is

hey, i just went outside to look at my fuse box inside the car, underneath the dash on the left driver side, and my cigarette lighter fuse is the furthest one right, and 4 down, but since u have a 98 gst, and i have a 96 rs, im not sure if they are the same, but i hope that helps some

are you sure the wire that powers your cigarette lighter didn't pop out? did you remove your center console recently? because if you did you might have forgot to plug back the wire that powers the lighter. hope i helped some

nope it was the fuse. i found my flashlight went out to the car and replaced it. for future reference if anyone needs to find theirs it the 15 blue one in the bottom row in the middle. its to the right of the red 10. thanks for all the help now i can smoke without having my lighter.

You don't have to be a smoker to use the car lighter, keep in mind that many electronic items can be plugged into the lighter for power.

bloodyangel no it was that one, but it put me around the general are. its on the bottom row in the middle, the blue 15 one. as far as smoking in my dsm well the dsm is the reason i smoke

yea i know you can hook up other stuff to the lighter thats where my electronic boost control gets its power, but alll those thousands of dollars ppl spend every year on cigarets... THINK OF WHAT YOUR CAR COULD BE IF YOU SAVED THE MONEY!

Try and pay attention to the vehicle profile, the n/t and turbo fuse boxes are different. I'm sure your input helped alot though.
