Anyone make a shorter 3rd gear for the fwd tranny?

The power difference between 2nd and 3rd is insane. 3rd feels soo much slower...in a GST. GSX have shorter/closing gearing.
 
Why would you want a shorter 3rd gear? Your just not making enough power. That's why 3rd seems so slow to you. Start making some decent numbers and your 2nd is going to turn into a "worthless gear" because you'll spin and roast the tires. If anything I would want a longer 3rd/4th gear. It would make alot more sense.

How about we race. You start in 5th and I'll start in 1st. Ok how about a taller 2nd and a shorter 3rd?

I'm getting almost ate up from rolls with gsxs because they have shorter gears expect for 5th WTF Pretty said when I'm running 20 psi and the GSX is running 12 psi and I barley pull on it (he has cams, b16G, built motor). BTW I', running a 11:1 A/F add my timing is advanced to 18 at redline. Oyeah, I'm not lifting to shift either.
 
Even on the 14b my 2nd gear is next to useless. I love my 3rd gear :confused:
 
My engine must be fed over. I ordered the leak down tester. compression was 150 across the board
 
If you haven't noticed, I'm FWD to. I'm simply stating that your not making enough power. That is why your 3rd gear seems to slow. I've been in a nicely modded FWD and his 2nd/3rd gear are about worthless. He could downshift at 70mph and burn his tires pretty decent. All I saying is that once you actually make the power, you won't even be able to put it to the ground without an LSD of some sort. I don't have a very extensive mod list and if I hold 2nd at WOT, I'll spin all the way to 60mph and then some.
 
MY engine sux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 then....I'm gonna try putting the 450s back in I'm running a freaking front mount with a EVOIII at 20 psi and a EBC

I barley spin 2nd. I'm on stock 2G suspension, tires, rims. I do have a strut bar, mounts, and sway bars though
 
just looking at your mod list is that completely up to date?

If so turn your boost down some i would say that your heat soaking everything with out an upgraded intercooler, third gear should be your jewel that is where i get my brother in his ss and a friend of mine in his cobra w/upgraded pully
