anyone have any trouble ordering intake valves from oreillys?

im trying to order 2 intake valves for the 420a. i ordered some from oreillys and took em to the machine shop along with my head, the guy at the shop said these valves arent the right ones, so i took them back to oreillys and they looked on the comp. and said these are the ones they call for. so the guy was like, well lets see if some valves from the 2.0 turbo engine will work, so im suppose to go back later and see if those match up (which i doubt), anyone else have this trouble? thanks.

the valves i ordered are made by Melling.

Dude, I know what you mean. Here's the thing, the computers at O'Reilly's are actually set up for the 4g63 engine. More often than not, you need to order the ones for a Chrysler Sebring 2.0 They're the same engine. O'reilly's and Advance are both under the impression that the 4g63 is the only engine out for an eclipse. Hope this helps.

Ugh... I went to Autozone just to pick up an oil filter. I went to the parts counter just to ask for the part number (yeah, I don't quite have it memorized yet). Of course there were several part numbers listed; one for metric threads and one for standard. The guy asks someone else back there which one to give me... the other guy says "well, it's an import car, so the metric threads"! I muttered "it's got an American engine in there...", but sure enough, he gave me the 4G63 part number. Luckily I knew he was full of crap and got the right filter.

In the future, don't trust internal engine components to Autozone/Advance unless you absolutely have no choice. Sure, valves aren't so big of a deal, but there are plenty of other parts they could screw up in a heartbeat. The dealer is your best choice for immediate parts (always go to a Chrylser/Dodge dealer before Mitsubishi), or a reputable online vendor like Parts Dinosaur for something you don't need right away.
