Im building a track car so ive stripped everything out of my car but a cage and racing seats, and was curious if anyone else is using a fuel cell and if its worth removing the stock fuel system for a 8 gal. cell. The car will very rarely see the streets and will be used primarily for track use as the car will not be street legal, any info would be great.

Ive never installed a fuel cell on an electronically controlled car and ive spent a majority of my life working on modifieds, so i dont know if there is more too this than im aware of.

Heres my current fuel set up
Deka 850cc injectors
Obx fuel rail
Vision FPR
Megasquirt 2.2
255 lph fuel pump

Thanks

What Hp rage are you looking in to, how much fuel will you need and what fuel are you going to run on ? pump gas, race gas, e85 ........

I would go with the stock tank, if you only need one walbroo 255 or Bosh 044 and don’t need a cell for the track regulations.
You can later on upgrade to an in tank double pumper or add an in line Bosh 044.

I have a fuel cell in my 2g gsx but I installed it because of my fuel system and the track regulations here.
It isn’t cheep… the fittings and every thing you need for a full fuel system with a cell will cost you a bit :)

Hopefully this helped you.
