yup, seen it. I still like our hump and maybe a more subtle functional scoop would be sweet right above the exhaust mani....

damn, im late. i still like it though. and supposeddly they have the evo hood design for 1Gb as well. i like this one though.

Gah! They're showing both the 1ga and 1gb hoods on a 1gb! No pictures of how it looks with the popups. :(

hood is awsome, i have it on my car, clears the timing belt just fine! :thumb:

can u post pics. ide like to see it with the popup lights

ha. too bad. he did a 1gb conversion, so no popups for him, and no pics for you. ive been looking at different sites and it seems that the black 1gb is the only one they use for advertising.

yeah i did do a 92-94 conversion heh, they didn't have it for the popup's when i ordered mine, i also picked up a set of those aftermarket HID lights they make for 92-94 1g's they're realnice kinda pricey think they racked me about 209.00 + shipping. i'm debating on a carbon fiber hatch now with some lexan to replace the glass, good weight reduction in my eyes. i picked up the hood and fenders from visracing.com if anyone is wondering they also have the hatch as well.. it's under eagle talon tho but still the same thing

Bleh, I really don't like any aftermarket hoods for our cars..I like the OEM style..with the POWER BULDGE!

yeah i was thinking of gettin an OEM style CF hood but i wanted to do somthing different so i went for the "show & go" approach :thumb: :dsm:

I saw that one today whi9le searching for a hood replacement.
I like it, but the VIS is better because it is not hood pinned...
I HATE and I mean ABSOLUTELY HATE Stupid ass hood pins.

hood pins are meant to keep your hood from flying off your car and from possibly shattering your windshield. unlike some ricey things, they are there for a purpose. just to let you know.

hey boosted90gst, how are those HID's working for you. i might get them after i hopefully find a 1gb awd. i dont really want to spend money on my 1.8L cause then ill never get the awd ive been wanting so bad.

I have that hood i got it on a group buy from VISracing a long time ago. That picture sucks, you need to see it in real life it is amazing and the work on it is awsome.

DO NOT RUN A CF HOOD WITHOUT PINS!!

I was running an OEM style hood and using locking hood pins. I was at the drag strip and right as I hit the 1000' mark, the brackets broke and the hood came up. Now this is at around 100 mph, so I think you can imagine what happened. The hood cracked, the windshield obviously suffered, it compressed the roof, and shattered the sun roof. With the explosion of the sun roof, I got a nice sprinkle of glass down my shirt and into my back. I got to sit in the ambulance at the end of the track while they picked glass out of my back. And I had hood pins (obviously don't buy locking ones), so don't think you're too cool for them, because honestly, if I hadn't kept my cool, its kinda hard to drive when you can't see, specially at 100+. In regards to the VIS hood, I've been looking at them for a long time and I'm still not really a fan.

I know pins are recomended for CF/FG hoods... I just do not like them. Never have, and probly never will...
It's not like I think I am too cool for them.. I just do not like them.

Alright, lets lay some things straight, #1, hood pins are not needed for that hood it's a direct bolt on altho it is predrilled for your windsheild wiper sprayers, #2 hood pins are usefull but you honestly do not need them, the hood secure's itself just fine with the stock latch and lifters you bolt too. LambdaJoker: The HID's are probley 1 of the best investments i've ever made for my car, they're super bright and work great. (altho they forgot to fill 1 of my level's) everything is gin. I recommend them for any 1g also i have the clear corner lights i paid like 30 bucks for them they look much nicer than the stock orange/clear corners :thumb: :dsm:

^^^^^^^^ That happened to my buddy also, so hoods flying up arent just a freak accident that happens with 1/175967 hoods.

I have also seen that happen on other cars runnign aftermarket hoods without pins.

Pins :thumb:
No pins :notgood:

wow, thats some shit right there... but non the less i'm still not using pins, personally i dont trust myself enough to drill threw carbon fiber without messing it up some how and 2nd they're ugly IMO... you all have some very good points on why to use them but i just dont think they look good, and i probley don't drive my car half as much as any of you guys but i will look into them i don't need a windsheild like that :notgood:
