any regrets for balance shaft removal?

i have felt:

with bs, stock mounts - smooth
w/out bs, stock mounts - almost undetecable
w/out bs, hard motor mounts - definetly detectable but i would still rock it

BTW ive read about backyard mechanics pulling the balance shafts out them selves, why are you saying my mechanic will have a hard time with this?
I did this in the parking lot of my old apartment complex. And I'm no mechanic. Trust me, your mechanic will not have a problem if he glances over the VFAQ.

As far as personal preference: I'd take them out again in a heartbeat. The only thing I noticed was a very faint high-frequency vibration at idle after taking them out. But I also noticed slightly higher oil pressure, and I know that's one belt that won't snap and tangle in the timing belt. ;)

Alrighty, thats what I was looking for. I have been through the vfaq myself and didn't feel that it was rocket science, if i was granted access to more tools I wouldn't mind doing more things on my car personally but there's not much that can be done with a buck knife, 2 twisty ties, and a roll of masking tape (idea of what the tool box looks like) So yeah. Dave if your readin this, we have clearance for balance shaft removal :thumb:
